I just downloaded the free trial last night and got started. The only thing i dislike right now is that it seems to be another solo questing style game ... is this the case? I had heard VG was a grind type of a game so I was interested ... but the first few levels i've played has been solo quested. Before I spend more time in the game, I wanted to find out if VG is solo quest based (WoWish) or group grinding (EQish)?

Just say NO to questing and crafting !
Questing: be all the errand bitch you can be!
Crafting: your night job that you pay to do.
Questing and crafting, keeping people paying to play massively mulitplayer games solo since Nov 2004.

Actually it's more focused on grouping but there are plenty of soloable quests and you can solo to 50 if you like. It's really up to you at this point however you'll have much more fun and get better rewards grouping.
Make a difference!
Well that's reassuring, thanks. Really dont want to have to solo any more MMO games ...

Actually the crafted gear is the best until raids so yes you can buy the best even if you solo LOL.

Isle of Dawn is set up so you can solo our group your way through the first 10 levels. And most other starting areas and races can solo the early levels.
Beginning about the level 20 range you have many choices between group and solo quest lines. Obviously, the better rewards will come via group quests and dungeon crawls.
At higher levels, there still is the solo option but the game because much more group-centric. With the new patch today, it'll take you years to explore all the content... group and solo
^^ The Isle is very user friendly IE soloable, however once you get out into the real world you WILL need a group for most things. The PVE in VG doesnt mess around in most cases.
There are 3 types of quests. Solo, small group and group.
Solo - as name says
Small group - a lot of classes can do this solo too, else get 1-2 more people
Group - you better get a full group for this
And VG is not a grind game.
