if u want a sandbox, eve would be the game to try out. its a sci fi mmo so idk if your into that but they have a trial out for it.

if you want a game that has alot of pvp, i would suggest warhammer. you'll prolly see alot of fail about the game on this site but it is fun for me personally and they have been patching it alot to make it run better etc. its pretty cheap on amazon so you could pick that up. pve is kinda weak tho

if you want another pve mmo i would def suggest lotro. while i played it it was alot of fun, great lore, good graphics, it was just alot of fun. plus a new expansion just came out for it. you can get the expansion and the game for 40 dollars and one free month of play (like all mmos)

i would also suggest you stay away from all of soe's games except for eq2. i have only played the trial but from what i heard it is the best game soe has and the most populated one too. another pve game.

theres other games out too that have smaller pop's (like age of conan) but these are the best in their categories (imo). you could also wait for some games that are coming out next year too (darkfall and aion, theres alot about both on these forums). so pick whatever is best for you. good luck

    welcome to the forums

Thanks for the reply, well i have played EVE and it was fun but i thought it lacked a little in some departments that i liked. I have really thought about warhammer and LOTRO, leaning twords maybe lotro but idk yet. I played SWG for a little while on a trial before and i actually kinda liked it, i know it sounds odd but it was alright except for it being a slower game. What about Guild Wars? Anyone know if thats any good ive only played it limited.

oh ya i forgot to mention guild wars yes i think its a pretty fun game. its f2p so thats a nice addition but its all instanced when you go into the world so idk if that would bother you at all. i really liked the first campaign (prophecies) and the third campaign (nightfall). you can buy all of the campaigns seperatly and they are all stand alone so you do not need the first one to play the others. gw is like 20 dollars now so it is a good deal. fun game it has a pretty good population too

Take a 1-2 month break from WoW, play single player games over that break, then go back, you'll be craving it hard.

Currently restarting World of Warcraft :/

You can't get a better game than Guild Wars for the money tbh.

I have played LoTR, and it is a good game with some really nice features; however I personally found it to be a grind fest. Having said that, they a have improved a lot of the areas I found to be problematical (particularly the PvMP, I like being a creep).

Currently playing WAR, and I really like this game (but note, I'm a long time fan of Gameworkshop and Mythic). Obviously WAR all about playing against other players, and while there is questing and PvE this has yet to have the polish that can be found in LoTR.

I would suggest trying WAR first. In a month you will know whether you like it or not, garanteed. LoTR, will need far long to assess, and it really needs to be played for a few months before you can find out if it really does it for you.
