How many characters can I have on an account?  Are the limits per server, per account, some of each, no limits, or what?

The game FAQ months ago said that some of the developers liked one character only and others liked to play alts, and they hadn't decided about limits on alts.

    Haven't seen a limit on characters really. You can make as many as you want... atleast I could ;).

    I had over 30 in CB ... If you want I'll try how many I can create nowadays?

     i think its 7 per server here on the german servers

    i made 1 char for each high house so far since i like the house-quests. after making 2 more i think i reached the max i could have for this server. i have a hand full of chars on the pvp and international server also tough so i think this limit is per server not per account

    Thanks for the information.   The comment in their FAQ that some of the developers preferred one character only, and that they hadn't decided yet on alt limits, had me a little worried.

    If I have to spread characters across multiple servers, that's fine.  If it's multiple accounts, and paying for each separately, then I'm wouldn't be so happy about that.

    I tried just now in the open beta, and it let me go up to seven on a single server.  I tried switching servers and it let me make more on the other server, so it sounds like it's a seven per server limit.  Now I just need them to put another PvE server up so that I can get one of each class.
