I have a brother and his father, who has never played any MMORPG, except for WOW and have played WoW since it released. They bought WoW, because they loved the Warcraft and Starcraft series.
I'd like to introduce them to WAR, especially since they've shown an interest, but they are waiting for professional reviews and what not.
A lot of us veteran MMO players know the best person to review a game is yourself. This is where I need your help. I don't know how to get them Buddy Passes or Trial Keys. I bought a regular copy of WAR at release.
How can I get them buddy keys? If I'm not able to, is there anyone here who could give me two keys to give to them?
Thanks
MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW
Currently Playing: WAR
Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.

fire up the game. when patching is done, dont hit play, but hit the MY ACCOUNT button. From there you will have an option to recruit a friend !!
Welcome to the WAAAGGGHHHHH !!!
Welcome!
1) Professional reviews: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/warhammeronline?q=warhammer%20age
That's a collection of all relevant reviews on the net with a compound score included. I suggest reading the top and the bottom few to get an idea of the game.
2) Roll your characters on one of the recommended servers. Really - those servers have healthy populations which are absolutely necessary for the full enjoyment of the game. Avoid low pop servers AT ALL COSTS.
3) If you want to play together from the very first moment roll characters of the same race. It is a bit confusing for the new players to find the warcamps from which you can fly to other zones. Make your first characters in the same pairing - I'm sure you'll make a few more of those later on in order to find the class that suits you the most. By then you'll know the game enough to be able to simply run to the first FP and join your friends. Make a couple just to get the feel of the game, find warcamps etc.
4) Beginning Open RvR is usually most lively in Empire/Chaos zone - the layout practically pushes opposing factions into each others faces. When you get to your first warcamp go to Human lands for the first taste of real action. Later on you can strategize by hitting other zones but imo Empire/Chaos is the best for the first encounter.
Enjoy!

oh sorry i just skimmed your OP and didn't realize that you're already playing. Anywaz, disregard all points except 1) cause you probably know it all... I'll leave the post here though as advice to new players with invites etc. Cheers!
A couple of things to remeber when starting WAR.
1. It is slower paced than WoW. Depending on the person can be considered "lame". No worries. Qeue up for a scenerio (aka Battlegrounds) and get neck deep in the action. You'll quickly understand that the slower pace is still intense with action in PvP.
2. You can qeue for scenerios right after you create your character. Just hit the little WAR symbol by your radar to enter a scenerio.
3. The game is PvP focused. No matter what you do, it is for the end game PVP goals.
It is not easy to go from WoW as your only MMO to WAR.
To a new MMOplayer that has only played WoW , War is a pos product.
The animations for everything from walking to combat are inferior.
The classes arent as diverse, the dungeons are lacking.
The graphics are actually worse to a WoW player since they are used to the stylized graphics of WoW.
WoW's instanced pvp is better, its dungeons, raids, quests and classes are better also.
Why do you think WAR couldn't pull WoWs fanbase? because 80% of them are first time MMOrpg players.
While I personally like WAR im not a new mmo player at all. So i could appreciate WAR for what it was.
Your brother and father wont last long.
Edit: and no im not a WoW fanboi/War hater I play Eve and dislike WoW atm.
PLaying: EvE, Ryzom
Waiting For: Earthrise, Perpetuum
On the contrary, I will comment that I think that WAR's instanced PvP is way better than WoW's for the simple fact that WAR's scenarios are much easier to get around on, and there are about 24 differant scenarios, while WoW only has I think 4 at the moment? Thus forcing you to play through the same crap over and over again if you want to PvP for gear.
I will agree, that WoW's dungeons are way better than WAR's. However, WAR has much better class mechanics, the better class balance, and the best PvP experience you can get in an MMO.
In short terms, if you don't like PvP much more than PvE, or aren't willing to try WAR's PvP out, then WAR is not for you.
I was new to the MMO genre with WoW being my introduction. I happen to like the way WAR looks graphically, its more gritty and realistic for the most part, so that isnt an issue for me. WoW dungeons are better in my opinion but thats what WoW is.... a PvE game. And I beleive that WAR couldnt pull WoW's fan base because even though they are both MMORPGs they are still 2 very different games. All that being said, I played WoW for 3 years. I had 3 70's and various others: alts, twinks, etc.. I was tired of the repetetiveness of WoW, it was a constant gear grind. No matter what goals you had to achieve the rewards were for the same crap. I've never been a fan of PvE raids so i never got t6 raid gear..... I happened to love pvp but all I could do is the same bg's over and over and over.... wsg, ab, av, eots.... seriously, not a lot of variety as far as that is concerned. WAR has offered up some decent rewards for the ORvR and Scenarios. I know that per tier each can be a grind, its still more variety than 70 lvls of the same 4 bg's. And as it may not be comparable, the questing is fairly easy and a nice change of pace from time to time.
WoW dungeons have utterly spoiled me. They are the best of any MMO game I have played. Perfectly laid out and scripted events. Hard bosses with clear defined tactic. Multiple ways to fight mobs based off different classes and specs.
WoW dungeonsa re the ultimate.
However, was very surprised at the quality of the level 25 dungeons in WAR. the dungeons are like multi layered PQ zones with a bunch of other quest inside. The bosses actually require strategy also. the edesigns are interesting just like a WoW dungeon. I'm happy that fianly another MMO can make good dungeons that are a thrill to run.
AoC dungeons were pretty good too, but due to the class makeup, every fight required the same tank and spank tactic.
