Seriously though, Novaseeker is right on the money....it's pretty much WoW or nothing if your looking for a high population fantasy-based MMO's, but here is a list of others you may want to try out.
EVE is unplayable on a MAC. I don't care what anyone says, the game sucks on the mac client. I just quit EVE actually, it's useless on the mac client just to reiterate. Thank God I have windows running on my mac .
Catch me streaming at twitch.tv/cryomatrix You can see my sci-fi/WW2 book recommendations.
I just have to wonder why someone would game on a mac?
It's almost 2010, and I am just not wiling to tolerate clunky graphics while being told that "gameplay is more important than graphics". That excuse won't wash with me any more. I expect my games to have both good graphics and good gameplay. -Quote Isoke(VN boards)
The Mac isnt really a viable gaming platform, never was... back in the 80's and early 90s yes ,there was tons of games but now not so much really actually with the exception of seeing EVE Online for Mac I dont know if there are any games for the Mac , maybe could get some console emulators like some old school NES/SNES/Genesis/ etc etc and pick up some old school RPG roms to bide your time most of the emulators have netplay capability other than that ... either pony up some money for a PC with linux or windows
if you are able to you might want to hit up the website of some of these games to check for Mac versions. Personally i have never seen a mac game in my life so online purchases seem to be a must for you. How do downloads for these clients work? maybe check fileplanet for trial clients then upgrade?
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds -Solid non level based game -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

WoW. I know you said except WoW, but for OSX WoW is the best one available.

if I am not mistaken, I do think everquest 2 has a Mac version.
playing eq2 and two worlds
Everquest has a mac version, but I heard the population is low for it. (Not sure though.)
Everquest 2 does not, though.
Edit: eqmac.com claims that they don't even have the same amount of expansions for the mac version.
