Land and space MMO with Motherships!

This is an idea, not a real game.

In this MMO you start as a character on a planet and you must fight monsters,do quests, craft and mine to make money to buy a ship or you can make one yourself. When you have your ship you can fly into space and explore other planets. The ships are fast and small for combat. In battle its not too hard to hit the enemy, you just lock onto them and fire, because of lag and the speed of the ships the weapons have to lock on and auto aim a bit. Battles are more about using the environment to dodge enemy attacks.

There is pk with full loot too, but you have enough hp so you can escape 1vs1, if your a good pilot you might escape many more.

There are 6 motherships floating in space that never land on any planets. They are like castles that guild can capture. When a guild has captured a mothership, the guild members can land their ships inside and walk around, chat with other players, watch tv or use the internet. The guild leader can fly the mothership anywhere in space but it must have enough fuel for it to move.

Your guild might want to mine on a planet, so you fly the mothership above the planet then fly down in your ships, mine some ore, then take it back to the mothership vault.

If another guild finds your mothership and comes to attack the guild leader will see the enemy ships on radar so he sets of the alarm, all the guild members quickly run and get into their ships and fly out to defend. There is also gun turrents on the mothership you can use.

The enemy guild must destroy weak spots on the mothership to disable the shield so they can land inside.

The outside of the mothership is like a massive battlefield, it has large wings and things sticking out that you fly around to avoid damage, all 6 motherships have different designs.

When the enemy guild destroys the weak spots they land inside the mothership and run around killing everyone inside, when everyones dead they have captured the mothership, now they must quickly repair the weak spots and fly away to safety.

Also a TV show like the one on Cowboy Bebop for bounty hunters is on screens in the cities. They give you clues to find bad guys for cash. If you pk too much you might be on TV.

You can look on the internet in the game, its very colorful with signs and patterns, you move around like your inside the internet, you can chat with other players, sell stuff or mayby find clues about the bounty heads.

ok, thats it, what do you think?

OK so far, what about the planet? will there be a town or city?...will other planets have the same options or only this one?

    Fine.

Ok...so let's say a guild grabs this ship and leaves, will a new one re-spawn in it's place for a new guild to try and capture?

This may be problematic if the guild leader isn't on and you want to mine..say three sectors away..these small ships you mentioned sound more like snub nose fighters than cargo haulers, so i have to assume if they're fast and maneuverable that they can't carry much payload.

Like shooting wamprats?.....sorry but it sound quite a bit like your giving this ship a 'thermal exhaust port' and this may lead to something that can be exploited.
The outside of the mothership is like a massive battlefield, it has large wings and things sticking out that you fly around to avoid damage, all 6 motherships have different designs.
It sounds like many ships can participate in this 'attack' you would need a very, very large mothership to give every player the feeling of zooming between....things sticking out.
When the enemy guild destroys the weak spots they land inside the mothership and run around killing everyone inside, when everyones dead they have captured the mothership, now they must quickly repair the weak spots and fly away to safety.
Seems OK unless a competing guild/faction knows of this attack, waits for the other guild/faction to capture this mothership and swoop in for an easy kill/ship.

    Or like billboards in EvE.

Needs a bit of sorting but sounds decent.

If, somehow, they can make it work I'd give it a try.

But I imagine everybody stacking on whatever group owns the most motherships.

For example, if Group 1 owned all the motherships; everybody would join group 1.

On the planets it will be like most MMO's with towns, quests, monsters to kill, crafting areas.

If a guild takes over a mothership, they can fly anywhere in space and another one won't spawn. Only 6 motherships on each server. They are like moving castles.

There is something special about these motherships so guilds never fully destroy the mothership they just disable the shields and land inside to take it over, then repair it.

The motherships where discovered floating in space and no one knows who created them.

Mayby the guild leader can choose some substitute pilots for the mothership when he is offline.

Yes the game could have mining ships.

Yes an enemy guild could send a spy to gain info about a mothership attack.
