I am interested particularily in playing this game for the PvP content so if it has suck PvP content please let me know...
Anywho - what is the grind like?
Is it a long tedious treadmill, fun quests, etc...
Also, how long (guestimate?) would it take to reach level cap
Thanks a bunch!

The grind is super insane on this game.
Two classes and you have to level them both.
stay away.
boo and i was so excited too....i dont understand what is enjoyable about a grind
True you have to lvl 2 class at different time but what he really didn't tell you is that, its really fast to lvl and you have alots of quest to do other than just grinding mobs all day. you can get to lvl 10 in like 2 hours or less. Theres quest every where you go. I would say that is game is very well thought out for a F2P game. Don't take my words or his for it. just try the game out for yourself and you'll find out if the game is bad or good.
A friend and I DLd this for shits and giggles...its grind heavy.
Yeah there are a lot of quests, and their are daily quests from quest boards. But every single one of them is: Kill X mob or Kill X mob and bring back Y item.
Actually...every quest I did was that or talk to another NPC. Some quest text made me giggle, but the majority of them suck balls. ( yes I read the stuff they take time to write)

(we got to lvl 16/12)
The multiclass aspect is pretty nifty but not thought out well enough IMO and ends up being pretty shallow. ( It may end up being better at high level...to bad few will wade through the game to get there)
This game has its flaws and is grindy, but i have never had as much fun in a F2P game.
When it comes to F2P games this one definetly takes a big slice of the cake in terms of fun.
As with most games, you just have to try it out and since its F2P you got nothing to lose
Oh, and i was pleasently surprised by the quality of the community, knowing some F2P games.
Not many l33t talkers around.
i got to level 21 on one class and 17 on the other in 10 hours.
the cap is 50
you judge wether thats too grind for you or not
WTF qualifies as grind these days? O.o
By the seeming definition around here, anything is a grind.... lol.
It's very easy to level, I haven't reaching 20 yet but I haven't felt like I've grinded at all, and I've leveled way faster then any game I've played lately, well AoC is an easy 'grind' too.
Can't tell you about PvP sorry.

compared to most mmos the grind in Runes of Magic is really quite easy its been like what 2 weeks since the launch of Open beta and there are already lvl 45 and higher so within a month you could easyly get to lvl 50 but yeah u have 2 classes but that isnt to hard as u jst switch class to hand in quests to lvl your 2nd class.
Played: Archlord, GW, RFO, Knight Online, Silkroad, WoW, Rappelz, shaiya, Flyff, Fury, Space Cowboy, Perfect World Beta, Rakion, sword of the new world, Linage 1 and 2, Savage 1
Playing: CSS
Man I agree, people don't even know what "grind" is anymore. For the most part questing != grind so therefore the game CAN have a grind, but there are options to quest it mostly.

got to lvl 25 in two weeks, but i've been taking my time. I don't grind mobs, but i do 'grind' quests, because there are truly TONS of quests to do everywhere you go.
And the dual class thing you don't even have to do. You do need to go get your second class to open more quests, but you can shut off your second class completley and just lvl your main, but the fastest way to do it is just go run a quest, switch to your secondary and level that up.
But go check it out yourself, you might not like it, you might not, but as others are saying, you have nothing to loose.
The grind honestly isn't that bad. They have things in the game to make it easier then normal to level 2 classes at the same time.
1. It seems quests open up when you go back as another class, which helps.
2. Daily quest items drop regardless if you even have the quest or not, so you can bank them and use them for your second class.
3. There's daily quests right off the bat, it's a bit of a grind but because it's questing, it does sort of alleviate some of the pain with just killing mobs for no reason.
4. It really doesn't take that long to leve classes. I'm asuuming later levels will take longer, but getting to level 15-20 is pretty fast.
5. The death penalty really isn't THAt bad, especially if you get to your tombstone and get some of the pentaly take off.
I'm incredibly impressed with this game, though I'm assuming endgame isn't finished. However this game is still in beta.
Leveling is quite easy in runes of magic and not all quests is to kill x mobs, there are quests like to collect pages, explore tombstones, collect herbs, delivery quests, kill elite mob (needs party most of the times). Now i am lvl 33 my secodnary class is lvl25, at lvl 33 i get quests like "go talk with that guy in next house" and award is ~9k xp and that guy tells me to explore the tree outside the house and it gives me another 9k xp, and at lvl 33 i need 247k xp to lvl if i am not mistaken. And to level my secodnary i can collect daily quest items or complete simple quests and deliver it with my secodnary and i get level by completing only few quest (cos those quests are higher level than my secondary). Btw u shouldn't hurry there is no end game content yet.
