Couple of questions before i sub up

So i have played through the trial for the last week and i am really impressed with the game. The classes are fun to play and diverse, the questing is fun and the crafting/diplomacy a game in its own right. However, a couple of things are holding me back from subbing up.

Is the game really as unpopulated as people have mentioned?

I would hate to sub up and find myself solo 99% of my time in the vast world vanguard offers.

Is the population increasing or decreasing?

Lastly - Is the trial island a true reflection of the game?

I chose the Euro server due to my time zone etc

I am in the EU as well and have recently come back to the game.

I have Chars on both the EU and on Sardon(US). But have been mainly playing on Seradon recently since i started a few new chars there.

Every time i join the LFG option i have been invited to a group in the last couple of weeks.

I found before from my days on Halagar that if i wanted to group, i would start one myself and easily get a group together. As everyone is keen to do so even if they don't have the courage(for the want of a better word) to start one themselves.

Soloing is not so bad as when you get to lvl10 you get your first mount. And the Isle is just a small small sample of what the game is like. One thing i do like about the game is the amount of dungeons available.

There are over 80 listed on the Dungeon fnder site here. I doubt you could vist all with just one char, unless you freeze your XP.

lol i even found a post on the official forums talking about the Lost dungeons, talking about the not so obivious dungeons of vangaurd, found here

I can not say if the pop is increasing or decereasing, but is i were to guess i would say it is increasing because the Isle of Trials has given the opportunity for a lot of players to see what the game is like. Once tried players realise that this game is good ;-)

Since the performance and stability of VG has now been fixed, i think more and more players will stick with VG for a long time.

The game population isn't bad but the world is really large and people tend to be in the quest hotpoints.  With the rift system and a horse you can get around pretty well.

Most races have unique starting areas.  These were supplemented with the trial isle.  If you start in one of the ohter starting areas you will be lucky to see anyone.  Most starting areas get you to a rift stone around lvl 15 at which time you can really start doing group content with other people.  LFG or OOC are your friends.

Upto 3 months or so ago I was grouping in VG on Seradon nearly 100% of my time.  I started in the tursh area and grouped from lvl 6 or so and probably got 80 percent of more of all my xp upto lvl 31 grouped.  I also spent a lot of time from lvl 20-31 with my xp turned off so I could do more group areas and not outlevel different areas.

    I think pops are increasing.

Trial island is a good reflection of the game.  The only thing trial island is lacking are good group oriented dungeons.  The dungeons on trial island are typical of the dungeons in most of the starting areas.  They are soloable.  All dungeons from like 10+ are group oriented.  In VG you can solo most of the game if you want but the richest experience, and best rewards come from doing group dungeons or quests.

Generally the best way to do group quests and dungeons is go to the area and there are usually people there you can join or you can do an /ooc you are starting a group and usually people will flock to you.  I'm doing eq2 now but when I come back to VG I'm gonna try to pull together some groups to do some of the more out of the way dungeons.  No matter how many times I play VG it seems like there are always areas I've missed and want to explore.

Seradon's population is definitely increasing... I can't speak for the other servers, but I think they are all going up.  However, leveling out, you'll find just how big Telon really is and certain areas can feel sparse.  But with the riftways, region chat and the LFG tool you can easily find a group.

Isle of  Dawn was really well done, but it packs a lot of stuff into one area.  Afterwards you'll find you need to travel a lot more, group more etc.  The rest of Telon will be more challegning for sure.

Thanks for the feedback, i chose the eu server and i am having a lot of fun with the game. After playing mmorpg's over the last 8 years its hard to see why more people are not playing.

Anyway if you ever see a lil nub toon by the name of adasrao who looks completely lost, give him a holla
