I guess Blizzard can't estimate

Don't get me wrong or anything, I know this is a stress test and I know the server is porbably down for a good reason. I'm just saying that blizzard should stop estimating things like this. The said on their site the server will be down for about 1 hour, i've been waiting for 4. Heh this is probably why the don't estimate their games release date.

    Yah atleast there fixing out the problems with the serevr unlike some other games I know of....

    Heh, lastnight I thought there was some sort of trickery as to how long the servers were down. I thought they were just pulling our chains to make us think that the stress test beta would last until Sunday, but really they would pull all the servers down for good. Thankfully, they did not trick us, cause I was getting nervus that I couldn't play my Undead Warlock anymore and that I would have to wait till the open beta to start all over again.

    Ok, going back into WoW....

    They're terrible at estimating everything.  I got money on wow being out in '05. =D

    Would you rather they just not say anything? Just shut down the servers and lkeave you guessing? Just like some others in the game sit there and whine about them telling us 8 minutes before hand and give us a 15-30 sec reminder. I can't believe some actually complain about getting a reminder that the worlds are shutting down for maintainance and now even some whining about getting an estimate.

    I would rather get an estimate that it will take hours instead of wondering if we are going to get back on at all or having to wait till the next day. Then you will see a lot of people complaining that they spent hours on end trying to login. Is that what you are really whining about? That you can't get up to the minute update when the servers are going to be back up so you can be the first to login and the first to work his char to GRIND away to try to be the highest level so you can act all stuck up and crap?

    That's one thing going wrong with the MMORPG community, too many thinking these games are a race, FPS game and only see the mechanics of how the game functions rather than the story, environment or even getting into their character.

    Well, I could go on but I think I am really replying to another post that I need to respond to, however atleast the first two paragraphs relate directly to this topic.

    He's not saying he would rather them not say anything at all, he just said they are bad at estimating, worse than other companies, which is absolutely true.

    And he was pretty much joking around about it, YOU are the real whiner here.

    Well they most likly think that you understand that it is a stress test and that they need to fix the servers and that you dont have any reason to complain, but i guess thats a bad guess too.

    Edit: not pointed towards any of you... but have u seen the worldofwarcraft.com forums?

    I think he is right. There isn't really much more to it. You need to know that Blizzard doesn't owe us anything. It is a priveledge that we even get to play the game laggy, buggy or what ever. So deal with it, be happy you can play, and have fun.

    Theyre trying to stay positive by estimating earlier release dates or down times.... unlike some games.. NO we will lose so many players the servers will be down for 7 days!!! .. servers are back up 2 hours later

    About their bad estimation:  They say the game as a good chance of comming out this year!  How come i say this?  They've said it once in the forums that with the cooperation of every stress test testers, the game will come out before the end of the year!  When? When?
