It has boobs with nipples.  You see it every time you take off your top if you're female.  There are (or were) a few topless NPCs scattered around the world.  Not sure if they've been removed / dressed or not.  For a mature game, there's very little nudity really.  The rating seems to be more because of fatalities, blood, violence and maybe a bit of language.

Yes it does, and it is "limited" to ladies boobs.

You will not see it often. I believe I have only seen once a top-less NPC and you will see it everytime a female player character decided to remove her chest armor (which they do not do often).

It have nude boobs but it isn't so often that the NPC shows them nowadays (in the CB there was a lot more). But it happens, it is more common that not-so-mature players dances topless in Tortage though.

would this game be appropriate for a 14 year old to play?

    Yes.

As someone said here earlier the main reason why this game is mature rated is because of all the blood, fatalities (chopping peoples heads off) and some vulgar language.

There is an in-game filter though which allows you to turn these off. Never used it myself so not sure to what extent it will reduce these aspects of the game, but its there.

If you're the parent, I recommend you try it out yourself on a trial (you can buy it and get 30 days' game time before subscribing).

The amount of nudity is quite small. There's quite a bit of blood and of course you never know what another player will say in chat, so those are other issues to consider.

Overall, I think it would be okay if the kid has no developmental/emotional issues.

No. Mature is rated 17+ don't you know this already?

If it were my kid, I would have to say no. I know most of us adult players are used to this type of violence, but the first mission of the game starts off with you rescuing a recently reaped prostitute. I have no problem playing games like this myself, but I would not gift it to my 14 year old cousin when the game slogan is “has never been so hot”. But at the end, you as a parent have to decide this, it is your child afterall

Hmmm depends on how mature your 14 year old is since everyones mental, social, and emotional development is different. Now that being said, the blood and gore isn't much different than your run of the mill first person shooter, and really isn't on the level of gears of war.  The nudity is just above pg13 (topless) and the overt sexuality is on sitcom, romantic comedy, or drama level (brothels, prostitutes, and some quest may have you exact revenge for a raped woman) level but the sexual innuendo is probably too sophisticated for much 14 year olds to understand, the bearded clam for instance which is more part of the game then the other stuff and I would compare the sexual inuendo to movies like Austin Powers .

Like others have said the M rating is for violence and blood in the game. At least in the states it is, the European version of the game might be a little more liberal.

This person has a point. Like the stuff I mentioned above; however, I'd hope people that will limit what games their kids play don't allow them to play any FPS games, watch rap music viedos, listen to rap music, watch most sitcoms on television, or a lot of movies rated pg13

So what a few derketo worshippers show their tittie nipples? Have you watched Mtv lately, bitches show of their crack in nearly every vid these days. AoC is  really innocent stuff compared to that. Anyways, I think all the blood and the real violence in combat could be a tad too much for your cousin. Let him gain a couple of years before you let him see people tear the head off his opponents. www.youtube.com/watch

    Well, why not.

Just dont forget to use the in-game filter.

You dont see so much nudity, its more blood and gore, when using the in-game filter most of it disappears.

Even though I swore I would never give out my 6 passes, you seem to be a good guy who wants to make sure your kid isnt playing something he shouldnt. Plus its Christmas, so send me a pm with your email addy and if I can get you a buddy pass w/o being active I will.

p.s. If anyone else wants a buddy pass, all your pm's will be ignored.

Age of Conan is sadly already filled with 14 years olds. Why rush your kids to mature. The nudity is not nearly as offensive as the graphic violence.

Why parents buy their teenagers games like AoC and GTA is beyond me ....

thats why im testing it first

hopefully i dont become addicted to it

Out of the people that done the last community survey here are the results for the age section:

What is your age?                             % of  Respondents                                Number of Respondents

    0-16                                                                 1.79%                                                                22

    17-19                                                               8.54%                                                               105

    20-24                                                             17.24%                                                               212

    25-29                                                             19.92%                                                               245

    30-34                                                             19.51%                                                               240

    35-39                                                              17.24%                                                              212

    40+                                                                  15.77%                                                              194

    Number of respondents 1230

just goes to show that over 72% of ppl that took the survey are over 25 yrs old and the the community back by this evidence is quite old for age.

    docs.google.com/View

22 people under 16 from the 1200 who took the survey is hardly "filled"

Actually, most kids prefer Wow and Guildwars. But really, it is just a game. Do you really think that blood is so bad, you kill people both in Wow and AoC and it should be the act of killing that is wrong, not how realistic it is.

Kids do grow up fast. I work in Denmark, 15 years to drink there (and the police boss of the capital said in an interview that the police wont check your age, he thought 15 years was stupid and that it shouldn't be any age). And you know what? Kids in Denmark isn't worse than kid anywhere else, they don't have more violence or drug problems than the US where you usually have 20 years.

If parents take their responsibility and teach the kids what is right and wrong, then any game or movie in the world wont hurt them.If you don't then they might end up as criminals whatever games they play.

The topic I think is sex and violence, the game isnt 'Age of Pub Crawl'.

Nudity, that isnt an issue in my mind, its a US puritanical bible thumping mentality that gets movies rated R or NC-17 for sex while you can have a ton of violence in a PG or PG-13.

Violence is different issue, if you wanna show kids violence show it with it's repercussions, that turns kids off.  Movies everyone who gets shot says 'Ow' and falls down doesn't show what triage is like in a Hospital, maybe for family entertainment you could take your kid to an Emergency Room some Friday night and watch them wheel in drunk drivers and domestic abuse victims, doubt they would get the same thrill.

Edit : BTW does Denmark have Draconian Drunk Driving Laws like most of Europe?
