I'm satisfied - Another returned player.

I've been playing on my Guardian for a couple of days now. At first I couldn't really get into him, I was just doing a few quests in Field of the Dead, but now I'm back in the game into after doing a few dungeons. Fixed my feats, did up my attributes again, checked out the AH, got a few upgrades. Reading about my class helped a bit as well, since before I was playing how I felt to play. The mechanics seem well ironed out.

I can certainly notice a performance boost. I'm at a constant 35FPS on average on mostly high settings with AA at 2X, which is a major difference compared to what I was getting when I started. There aren't any more textures going crazy, the game feels very smooth. The only place that gives me lag is the trade quarter of Old Tarantia, but that's reasonable. You're expected to get some lag in a major city or two.

Global chat, at least on my server (Set) is constantly full of people, practically spamming it, but usually with something constructive. You get the scatter troll, but it's nice to see that at least one of the servers has a large community. I'm going to be heading to Ymir's Pass soon, and from what I've read that should be fun.

There are a few things that pick at me a little while playing, and it's how crafting professions aren't profitible. Are gathering professions worth it? I haven't bothered looking into it. Also, the system in which you look for a group still lacks. Having to spam global since the tool doesn't seem to do anything isn't the best thing that I can think of doing.

Some other suggestions would be adding new questing areas over time. I don't like being limited to one area for each character that I make. I realize that we're getting a zone or two next month, as well as two dungeons and DX10, and if all goes well that should attract some nice numbers. The thing is that we all know that FunCom did a pretty bad job presenting this game in the beginning, but they've been pretty persistent with updates from what I understand, and since the new director came along a lot is being done. Next month alone should add a lot to the game.

I'd say play this out, because when I'm playing this game I don't feel like I'm playing a so-so game. I feel like I'm playing a game that's getting there and definitely has a lot of potential.

Some things that I really appreciate is how there are new interfaces offered (the default is awful), and how the combat system isn't so standard as it is in other MMOs. I think that that right there is one of its strongest qualities, combined with fatalities as well.

Overall the game lacks a bit in the direction you're going in the game, but seems to be improving.

If they can only present PvP in a richer form, adjust crafting and keep up with the new zones/instances, then I'm sure this can reach some pretty healthy numbers. DX 10 alone is a reason enough to take a look at this game, because for 1) It looks better than every other MMORPG out there. But that's just a luxury really, but in all honesty, this doesn't feel half as incomplete as it did at release and is definitely worth another look, especially next month when each population evens out with the merges, and the new patch.

I am happy that you like AOC and that you are having a good time

Yes AOC has improved ALOT since lunch and is now a really cool and fun game

Ye the new patch will be awesome ! really good stuff coming here, new high and mid lvl dungeons / DX10 / pvp-resources <---- this will make pvp much better and much more fun ! and ofc alot of other good stuff.

Server merges are a really good thing to, in February they will lunch a new Item/stats system and i know that many players have been waiting for this. They are also remaking the gem profession, and thats a really good thing.

So this game is really Awesome! I strongly recommend people to Buy or resub AOC and have alot of fun !
