Just wanted to get some thoughts and opinions on what everyone in the beta thinks so far.

I read that alot on a few different forums, i read some of the skills and some of the abilities almost look like they were taken right out of wow but i cant make a definite claim since I havent even played the game.

However I cant even play the game because most sites make you download it in 4 parts and i dont have the bit torrent system installed (nor to I care to install it) just to play this game and have it installed.  Id rather download the entire game as 1 setup exe personally.  So untill they change it I wont be trying this.

A Hobo version of WoW to be precise.  It's a nice attempt, but it seems awfully rushed, unrefined, and overall not well thought out.  The dual class system is pretty annoying, since you have to level both classes seperatly.  Classes themselves and their skills are for the most part not well thought out and need alot of work.  I have not seen one GM in the game or chat to date.  Their balancing leads to gimping and isn't very rational.  This game follows in the line of many who had potential but will probably never reach anything close to a good game status.

I downloaded it in one file.  Gamers Hell website choice I think.

its the same as wow graphic wise, but like 15% the content and a horrible pvp system

this game wont hold much breath against the juggernauts at all!

RoM is WoW-like in that it's obviously aimed at the same lower age limit and level of difficulty and of the F2P games I've tried they've come the closest to being a possible F2P version of WoW. As long as they fix the  the bugs (not many that I've seen) and localization issues (quite a lot), widen the world a bit and don't make the item shop element too obvious and annoying then I can see this game doing very well. It's very different to, but in the same league as Atlantica imo.

It's an outstanding F2P that focus on a more Western audience. It's quite a lot more fun than WAR, and has almost the same quality graphics and some WoW simmilarities. Funny timesink if you don't know which game to play next, so you get some grinding time while in impasse.

Please explain in what way this game is outstanding.   I found it to be a very mediocre game with handholding taken to an extreme.  Granted it is beta still, but pvp is very unbalanced at the moment.

They have a lot of bugs to correct before this goes live.  At the moment it is early beta and it shows.

Nothing wrong with trying the game out, it has potential, but still a long way to go.

I've been playing the open bet a bit more recently and have to say it's very compelling to return. It is eerily similar to WoW in terms of graphics/combat, but it has the dual class system as well as being able to own a house and a few other tweaks and things. Hopefully they'll add a lot more to make it feel like a unique experience.

The community has also been relatively friendly (playing on the international PvP server).

One thing I've seen that isn't particularly attractive is that it costs quite a bit in diamonds to respec your toon. It could become a huge money sink if you really get into the game (respecs, perma mount.. etc). However, I have to applaud them for making most of the items in the item shop not essential to having a good experience.

I feel if they can deviate from the already established bias that the game is a strict clone by adding fresh elements to game-play or something we've not seen before, then the game really could take off. Otherwise it will probably just fade into a sea of clones.

I've been playing this quite a bit in the past few days because I'm looking at trimming my gaming budget and a good F2P MMO may help with that.

So far I've been fairly impressed. I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying it's like WoW... it's really not THAT much like WoW other than it seems to apply rather simple game mechanics, which is fine. It's a nice little game that pleases me with its simplicity and yet has a nice multiclass system which will allow you to really tweak and play with your character down the line. In my opinion that is pretty cool.

The quests so far have all been very eq/wow/daoc'ish:
Go kill X and bring me Y. Hopefully they get a little more involved down the line. But for free I'm not going to complain much. As I said, it's a nice game so far. We'll see how I like it in a few days but right now, for free, it's a nice play.

Take into account that we are talking at the f2p mmo's average, and that, in that league, that is not the Major League ~~ if you allow me to cast this soccer metaphore in it ~~  we are dealing with a little game, that is appealing to a Western audience, that as it has been demosntrated itself by numbers, love handholding and questing more than 'skill templates and open world'. Of course is an early beta, and it will improve as they are trying to make the world of Taborea larger with new areas and quests. PvP is unballanced, but it happens in the p2p games, doesn't it? ~~

So my argument goes on that to be a f2p that one, RoM, is a very interesting one, almost with all the features that you could find in a pay to play one. I play it, my budget nowadays doesn't make me eager to pay to play a broken game or a failure game or a perfect game into its style as Vanguard or WAR, so I am conducted to play for free, as many of us in these times.

Sorry for the delay of the answer but I'm in the European GMT  ...

So far I'm in EN PvP Smacht server, my main is Byron. I love open pvp. I'll stay by there if you need something. :D
