odd, I seem to remember them having "nVidia - the way it's meant to be played" somewhere on their box, or in their video options or something... I remember because I was using an x700 at the time, and I felt ashamed =P
In all honesty, though, the MMO market is being horribly dwarfed by WoW, despite how blandular it really is.
Really, not even WoW on release could compete against the rampaging beserk monstrousity it has become.
I am playing EVE and it's alright... level V skills are a bit much.
Anyone else read this as "68% of our customers didn't buy the expansion"?
Um...no...even if all markets were considered and 68% didn't buy the expansion...I would still see this as 4million x (approx:) $40.00=$160,000,000. gross plus (at least) 1month subscription for 4 million x (u.s/eu approx:) $15.00=$60,000,000. So Even if Blizzard never sold another WotLK expansion.....they grossed a minimum of $220 million in about 2 months...not even taking into account the gazillion dollars a month from ongoing subs and the continual sales of original boxed set and BC....at this point they could probably sell 10% of their customer base and still not be considered "FAIL"
That's 4 million people who wanted to pay $40.00 to do more of what they have been doing the past 3 years just in a different area. How exciting.
...for some people it is quite refreshing to re-arrange the furniture in their house..and throw some new paint on the walls. Same house...same furniture...but the change is no less rejuvenating...however short term it may be...and if you like your house ...and like your furniture..what's the harm? All your paying for is the new paint job. That's kind of the way I look at WotLK.

Well the fact that they've been doing it for the past 3 years would obviously mean they've been enjoying it. Therefore paying to do more of whatever it was they were doing, just in a different area seems logical to me.
How does this game keep getting more "subscribers?" Most of my personal friends don't play it anymore, and when I left most of the 60 or so active players from my former raid guild no longer played, and that was pretty typical for a lot of payers that were very active pre-BC. So who keeps subscribing to this game? People getting laid off? People who just discovered computers and gaming? Farmers? Inquiring minds want to know...
World population is about 6 billions. Life span around 60 years. Crudely, 100 million humans are born every year, worldwide. Wow is 4 years old, so simply due to demographic, there've been a potential of 400 million new players since its birth. Simple as that.

You all need to learn to spell.

Thats what an expansion is, it expands on the original content.
If they wanted something entirely new they would, you know, play a different game?
