(sorry for the grammer mistakes and spelling mistakes that are going to accure)

hey i am one of those mmorpg players who just cant get the grasp down on a good mmo... i wanna love a a game but i cant, im tired of being slapped in the face everytime i try a new mmo it just gets boring after like 1 month. im tired of there being everything set out there like a storybook that you already read.

but mostly i ammm dreaming for an mmo that i can get lost in a mmo that wont remind me that i am in a game every 5 minutes im sick of being like yes i just got this good item and then seeing someone way better just role on buy and know that it will take so long to get there and like in lineage2 i prob cant.

im waiting on a game i can work grind pvp for that great ok weapon and after all the hard work i wanna do all that and love it i wanna have a journey ( i wanna make sence when i make a post)

what do you want in a mmo?

    #1 I won't get bored.

#2 I don't get reminded of another similar game I played before (Stupid WoW clones)

#3 Good community. As in, you don't get too many idiots having too much fun at the cost of others.

#4 An above and beyond chat system. I grow discontent as time passes, due to the decay in the value of the chat systems.

Other that that, a place to kill time

    1) FUN

    2) Non linear gameplay- I want to do what I want, when I want.

    3) seamless, non instanced world

Ditto. I will also include Mortal Online from the little I've read and GW2.

I want a world that feels alive.

I want to play a hero, players should be able to play the kings and their vassals.

I don't want to to do rail roaded quest which all players do, I want to be able to do most of anything.

I want to be able to play a merchant or crafter who never fights.

I want combat to only be 20-25% of the game time. There should be a lot of more things to do.

I want my monster to be able to build hes own dungeons. and my knight his own castle.

I don't want to digg for minerals. I mean, come on. How long time would it take IRL to actually mine the iron for a sword with a pick? That is so stupid.

I want to play guard for a caravan.

I want players to play all the cool roles while the boring stuff are made by the npcs.

I want gamemasters who can posess a boss when they feel for it so a boss fight suddenly can get very hard without warning.

I want most gear to be player crafted and I want the crafter to select the skin and colour of the item.

    FFA PvP with consequences

    No classes

    No levels

Players influencing the game world (player cities are a good way to make sure of that)

The less predictable the AI is, the better (no boss tactics you need to learn or anything, but playerskill and improvisation should be the deciding factor) - GM controlled events would be top

Ok Graphics, don't expect something fancy on cost of the performance, since

Massive Battles with 100 or more players should be supported

    Full Loot

Items should matter as otherwise full loot wouldn't be of any consequences, but not too much

No autoattack, aiming is a must-have, the more playerskill is involved in combat, the better

    No instances or other safezones

Honestly, this may just be remorse since i just quit EVE after two years. But EVE, despite its hard learning curve, and its lack of useful graphics, the game does provide a lot of what you people are asking for.

You don't have to pvP, and can do quite well for yourself, without out any combat skills at all. It's quite fantastic actually. I made 2 accounts, one for PvP and one for market to experience both sides of the game and that was a great decision, too bad i chose to make in-game currency over fighting.

But EVE has a lot of what you want. I just think they screwed it up royally by having the atmosphere in space. If they made the same game but used mech warriors and had the terrain actually matter, then it would be fantastic. But oh well. just a rant.

My things for an MMO are.

    1) Can't be broken (like L2 with bots and economy, Vanguard with performance bugs) I still can't believe i lasted 6 months in L2 what a colossal waste of time. Amazing game, screwed up by a stupid company who didn't know how to fix things. Should be number 1 game out there, has the potential to be.

    2) The players can affect the world.

    3) Decent variety of weapons and items

    4) I like mounts in a fantasy game, lots of mounts :).

I want it all, pvp ffa with the choice to pvp or not, nothing forced, no bugs, the devs better be like jeesus and perform miracles or ill QQ all over the forumns, uber graffix that can run on my 7 year old junky dell, LOL ok sarcasm off.

I just like questing games with long winded adventures i can do with my friends, sandboxes somehow always miss it for me on this, The closest I came to what I like is eq2, I liked how earth and beyond had quests too, so i guess it doesnt have to fantasy, as long as I get to go on an epic journey with a decent story arc to follow.

    playing eq2 and two worlds

A sandbox game where players can change the world. Or maybe just some bikini armor.

    Freedom and Immersion

I want a large, complex world with some kind of consistent internal logic, lots of different creatures that behave in unique ways and lots of NPC factions that have a complex web of political relationships with each other.

    That covers the immersion bit.

Then within that highly structured, complex world with lots of strict rules I have a great degree of freedom to navigate my own path through the labyrinth. The minimum difficulty level for each of the infinite number of different possible paths I could take would start at quite hard and go upwards from there.

edit:  "Honestly, this may just be remorse since i just quit EVE after two years. But EVE, despite its hard learning curve, and its lack of useful graphics, the game does provide a lot of what you people are asking for."

Eve's design philosophy sounds very close to what I'd like if I liked sci-fi. I crave elfy rangeryness though.

    1. large open world

    2. If it has pvp it should be faction based if I wanted ffa pvp I would go back to dealing with inmates

    3. Best gear from crafters

    4. housing and mounts

    5. Strict naming policy no more Iownnubs or any of that filth

    6. Quests with a purpose and long involved storylines.

    7. GOOD COMMUNITY.
