European Server

I've never played an MMO where the Server is in another country (im in Los Angeles). Anyway, do any of you see any game play or lag issues as a result of trying to plan on a European Server? Is it even worth it to try from my timezone? Do you think when they do release the North American Servers we can transfer? Its probably way too early to ask this kind of stuff but Im just trying to educate myself based on your play knowledge or history.

    I think it's safe to expect:

    1. Higher pings (i.e. slower response).  With a game that is dependent on real time actions, this could be an issue for you, but there's no way to say until you hear about other players' experiences

    2. No free character transfer.  Most likely you'll have to buy the game again to play on a NA server - that's the recent trend at least.  If they do allow character transfer, expect to pay $15 or so.

    I'm not planning on playing until the game gets some extensive impartial positive reviews.I would think NA players might think of playing on european servers as a bit of a preview.Lag...timezone differences ...minimal beta testing of signifigant server populations could be signifigant barriers to early play.

    there saying people ar eplaying form all over with no isses including west coast of usa

    with 150-200 ping they have aprediction system so that shoulp up to 250 ping i would say 300 ping it will start showing this is rough estimates but if people are playing from austrilia wiht no issue i think usa will be fine

    Some of the screen shots show a ping of 188ish.  They were fighting a dragon so I assume pings around 200 can still play.  http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/4401/dragonfireball1bm2.jpg

    Being that this is a FPS + mmo I would say yes.  From my experiance playing from US on a EU FPS(game) server my ping(Speed) doubles IE I get slower.   With the amount of Speed that will be need to process not only the standard FPS but MMO as well Im predicting super lag for anyone from US or AS to EU servers. I'll be waiting for reveiws and America release

    ye ait hink bf2 starts crapping out at around 250 but 200 was muchbetter anything less was even better but this isn t apure fps theres travel time so aprediction system can be used

    I live in Northern California and I ping 185ms to Greece.  I am going to treat the release in Europe as an open beta, and then switch to the NA server when they come up.  Might as well learn as much as you can on the Euro server, because 185 ping in a fps MMO, is just silly to put up with.
