Satellite internet playable MMO's

sagiaparrisagiaparri Member Posts: 5

First of all, where I live I cannot get anything other than 56k or Satellite internet... So save your words, I'm paying $80 a month for crap satellite. (Can't help it!)

I'm looking for an MMO that can play off 900-1000ms pings - 1.4mb download - 100-200kb upload speeds.

I know I can play Hero Online and Scions of Fate

I like the fast action and big mobs in Hero Online but got bored.

Any help would be great!

In WoW on a DSL connection (5 megabits) I get 100-200 ms constantly, which isnt that bad, I couldnt imagine 900-1000ms all the time on ANY game... only advice I can give you is stay on servers closest to you.

Currently restarting World of Warcraft :/

Yeah, I've tried WoW and Runes of Magic without any luck.

    Thanks for the post though.

I used satellite internet for about two years before I moved and I hate to say but as far as MMOs go, there really isn't a good option. Because of the time spent sending the feed up, down, to a server, then back again, you'll always be a literal two steps behind everyone else. Your best bet will be browser based games. I played runescape for awhile back then and it did fairly well, but anything that required a client side interface to transfer information seemed to just suffer constant and unbearable lag.
