Looking for a good "Trade" MMO

sarayumisarayumi Member Posts: 12

I'm looking for a good 3D trade MMO that's preferrably ship based... games i've tried already are Voyage century online (it's okay, but it seems like no one else really plays, unless it's just because no one goes to the early cities) and Eve (Also decent but things take much longer than i'd like, and trading in that game seems much too insignificant compared with mining) I'd like to try POTBS, but the min system requirements are too hard for me (Asks for 1024ish ram, i only have 450ish xD)

Also, by trade i mean a game with products you can ferry between cities and whatnot, if it wasn't obvious.

And, i'd prefer the game be F2P, but P2P with a trial works as well.

oh , and uh.. silkroad is ruled out as well. played the game on and off for around 2 years, could never get into it because it was WAY too grindy

You definitely don't have a whole lot to choose from when it comes to actual ship trading. One I did find is Taikodom. There's a merchant ship with the description of "Freighter pilot. Merchants move the Universe economy, assuring that the raw material extracted doesn't lack in industry and space markets."

This isn't a ship game, but you might be interested in Cities XL. It's not out yet, it's similar to the Sim City type of games, and there will be an option to play it online with other people. You will have to trade whatever your city manufactures between other players to keep their inhabitants happy. A small article can be found on it HERE.

Maybe you could try Entropia universe or EVE.

I don't know how into puzzles you are, but Puzzle Pirates as a decent trade system last time I played. They have a F2P and a subscription ocean (servers) F2P is technically free, since you can earn currency in game or purchase with real money.

You can earn maps to get you to different islands. You can buy items from the market on settled islands or forage for them on deserted islands. Then, sell them for profit at other markets or to players. Alternatively, you can own a stall or shop and craft things that are neccessary to pirate life (rum, swords, cannon balls, etc).

Almost everyhting here is completed by puzzling, of course. The quality of the rum, for example, is determined by how good you do at its puzzle.  The only down side to me is, you may get tired of the puzzles after a while.

Puzzle Pirates is 2D, not 3D, but seems to otherwise be what you're looking for.

Sorry to heard you cant run PoTBS, it fits what you want perfectly, and yes Puzzle pirates is 2d but fits most of your things as well.

Currently restarting World of Warcraft :/

Opps, sorry. I wasn't thinking of 2D/3D thing and completely missed that requirement.

If you're looking for a ship-based-trading MMO you might want to look into EVE or Vendetta Online.
