Funcom said 3 months ago that DX 10 was very close to being released. And all the fanatic fanbois thought it would be released in 1 or 2 patches.. well well.. they hadnt seen past the previous hype. lol

Actually many of the "fanboys" said that DX10 would probably come out after the fall content patches were released, which has been somewhat true. Since they announced it as nearly ready, there have been what 2 major patches. If DX10 comes out in the next patch, then we would be right now wouldn't we.
As im eagerley awaiting the delivery of my copy of AOC id like to get more tech info about it, whats the performance of DX10 like in AOC on full settings but no AA ?
look slike it has mixed reviews to put it mildly. The majority seem to think it really sucks while a few others claim it is wonderful and that the ones that have problems with it must have poor equipment.

Thanks for the link. Yes, it seems like most people think DX10 is not that great. Here are some comments:
""DX10, in its current state on test servers does not start. So no, the graphics and performance are not better compared to DX9 which does start."
"tested it out on dx10, its crap."
"DX10 right now doesn't seem to be optimized, performance is horrible, and besides large bodies of water and few obvious bugs, you won't notice a difference between DX10 and DX9."
"extra stuff dropped my framerate in half, hopefully it can be optimized more."
"DX10 does not work well. I've seen a very small minority able to get DX10 to function somewhat, however none of their reported steps seems to work for anyone but themselves. It is as buggy and poorly designed as the DX9 client was at launch."
"At its current rate, I suspect possibly by spring DX10 will be functional."
Funcom should just forget DX10 and concentrate on DX9.

I have to agree on this one . AoC was quite the pretty game with DX 9 graphics and the videos that Avery linked to show off the DX10 graphics were featuring God rays and trees and grass moving in the wind are not all that. LoTRO has had God rays and moving trees and grass using DX9 technology since it was in beta 2 wth no Vista required. LOTRO added DX10 in Book 11 back in November 2007 so it is hardly a ground breaking feature anyway.
Just my opinion but they need to be concentrating their efforts on getting some of the basic core game features working and inplace. It's been said before and the phrase has been overused a lot this year in American politics but adding DX10 to AoC is like putting lipstick on a pig, it is still a pig.
I miss DAoC

Yes overused statements ahoy. I can link on about 4 pages of how good DX10 is, but we all know that you guys have never been on test server or the dx10 client. I have, I also will have a video up soon, real time real footage, and let me tell you it is a whole lot better than DX10 lotro. Either it gets put in the game or not, if it doesnt the hater will keep on about it being on the box, if it does we have the lipstick comment. Either way spin it for your own use. Right now Fin for example has no intention of playing the game and has a bucket of posts aimed in bad light - whats the point?
I know what I see and what I experience. Experience is better than you guy's theory.
Your 1980 car is not like the 2009 model : Sure it has wheels, seats and all, but you don't know how it handles
It's only been on test server a couple weeks - see the bit where it says test?
