Geforce 6800 Ultra or Radeon x800 XT.....

Okay.... I know that SOE is saying that the Nvidia cards are going to be better for their games. But this doesnt necesarilly mean any thing. The x800 performance wise has tested out better then the Geforce Ultra. How ever the 6800 Ultra has a vertex/pixel shader of 3.0 where as the x800 has a vertex/pixel of 2.0b... Does any body know what kind of shader models eq 2 will be using? Thanks...

    3.0 from what I've heard... Which if I'm not mistaken is why they say it runs better on the Nvidia card...

    When I was there they had all different kinds of computer setups in their gameroom, inclusing dome x800 systems, even some low end ones like Ti 4600s. So it's not like they're just saying "oh, we think it'll run on this one better" they have all the different cards there, they've run it on them, etc.

    Normally I would go with ATI but the 6800 is shaping up to be a good card. The EQ2 devs all say that it will work alot better with 6800 due to the 3.0 shades and other features.
