Join me on Ikariam.com or PM with questions. It's a great little browser game with no download or money to pay. I'm on the eta server if you decide to play. Look me up and we'll try to get you colonized closer to the "alliance" (a guild) for protection and prosperity.
The sales pitch from their website:
"Ikariam is an online game that you can play with an Internet browser. Each island nation that you meet is controlled by another player. There are no computer enemies. The game itself is continuous, meaning that even when you close your browser window life in Ikariam continues. Your researchers continue fiddling around with new discoveries and your workers harvest resources."
PM me.

There are more empire building browser based games than I can shake a stick at. Why should I play this one over them?
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
This is the only browser based game I play, but I really like it. If you can play at work it's perfect since things take time to build and such. There is a little micromanagement to it which is always nice, but of course, battles consist of battle reports. It's a nice time killer though. And I'm all about time killers XD.

I personally like this one the best. It feels more like a real game and you get addicted pretty quick. It's just IMO but you can try it and see for yourself. Try eta and if you like it, we can get you in with our people. If you dont like it, walk away. No money lost, a little bit a time spent. Nothing too crazy.
Thanks to those that PM-ed, I already reply to everyone that I will also give that person 600 wood once they move closer to the alliance islands.

I have tried the game and honesty belive it is overratted. I mean although it has some sort of visual the game gets repetative after building your second or thrid town because you put the same stuff in it, and the PvP is pretty lame too. All you can do is blockade ports and pillage. If you wanna play a good (in my opinion) browser RTS I suggest "Kings of Chaos".

This one is a bit unique.
I played it for a while, I eventuality got bored because there was no way to eliminate enemies like on Tribal Wars and Neveron.
If your looking a fun easy going one, this is really a great game. If your looking for a survival of the fittest, dog-eat-dog, can-lose-it-all-in-one-day game then it isn't for you.
So while I don't care for it's gameplay that much, I was still rather impressed by it, it's not that often that you see one this well-made. It's worth taking a look at their homepage and screenshots at least.
Well, I have to change my opinion about his game. Although fun and kind of cute, my boyfriend and I got banned because we use a router to play. Apparently, there are some strict rules about playing with people you know and playing on the same connection. You can't send resources to someone without notifying them, you can't declare war without contacting a GO, and you can't have any type of communication with someone you know.
Check out the rules and all that stuff is in there. Not to mention, the game operators are really rude and do not know how to speak English. That makes it really tough to play the game when you constantly have to get their permission to do anything.
So if you actually have people you want to play this game with, then forget it. Also, my boyfriend and I got banned for life for knowing each other and being in an alliance together. We weren't doing anything, just trading stuff with each other!
You've been warned! XD
