Have his pet out, press the talent tree button (I think N) and then click the pet tab. (could be wrong lol, I just press the buttons, don't think about it too much)
Is there a lvl where talents become available?
A new tab by your talents shows when your pet is out. he has to be level 20.
Thanks to the both of you for your replys. I will let my friend know.
Lvl 10 is when you learn pet training (from the quest from your racial trainers if you never did that quest line).
The pet trainers will provide you with some things to train (stamina, nat armor, resists) but the special attacks must be learned from tamed animals in the world (check a resource like wowwiki or thottbot for info).
I think that changed in the last patch, I don't have a pet training skill on my level 70 hunter anymore.
Umm yeah, no when was the last time you played this game? That changed at least a good month before Wrath dropped. And yes level 20 is when you get your first Pet point and every four levels there after.
Ah, I see. I guess I don't pay attention to patch notes, I haven't played my hunter in quite a while, sorry for the mis-info.
^^ the above is out of date and poor advice. You now automatically get some special abilities according to the family of your pet, others are achieved by spending pet talent points.

Level 20 is when the pet gets its first talent point
not to be confused with character talent pts that start at 10
