Who tha foch are you?
Yew Militia, founded in 2001 will try it's hand at Darkfall as the City of Yew (Barony of Yew) under the Hyperion Kingdom as the 6th county. We have been following Darkfall since it's inception, and we are eagerly awaiting the next best thing since the horrible travesty of Trammel. We have experience in Shadowbane, having roleplayed a vassal to Morloch's Vengeance (represent Mordkessel!) as an all shade guild. Some of us were present when Morloch trampled around the realm of Shadowbane and we stood next to Redemption as the Covenant of Swords trampled over the earth... and subsequently the KGB stronghold.
We have been roleplaying soldiers in Ultima Online (OSI and free shards) for over 7 years. The Militia recently formed a new branch on Age of Conan named the Nemedian Legion where we instigated large RP-PvP battles, and I see many folks from Cimmeria forming here on Darkfall. UO however has remained our name-sake and our birthing grounds... and we fully hope Darkfall will be "The next UO" that we all dream for.
What are your plans for Yew?!?
We plan on rebuilding the City of Yew in all it's glory; and most likely have it trampled to death... but we are persistent fochers. We have joined the Hyperion Kingdom as the City of Yew, and have been fully inducted as the 6th county. We are fully capable of taking on vassal nations, and we would love to have an all-Elf contingent fighting with us or a Dwarven mining group or even sub-military sections looking to fight with old-school UO players while fighting for the greater Kingdom.
We will accept mostly human players but the wooded City of Yew (as it should be!) will accommodate Elf players and the occasional Dwarf as we roleplay our rank-and-file nature with lots of ale and foul-mouthed chitter chat. We're usually not to good at that "heresy" most called magic but we make damn fine soldiers and archers and we're addicted to ranks and formations, as you can see from our lengthy archived reports. Yewian soldiers make great wall-supports should walls need bolstered (this is an old Joke, some of you may not get it...).
Can I attain a high rank?
Why yes you can! Anyone with the gutso and initiative can rise up tha social ladder and the military ladder. If you become a veteran of the guild you are granted officer forum access to discuss and put forth your ideas for our future. All of us have first been led before becoming leaders of the guild, and we have built a system to give soldiers and commoners to work for.
What about other RP guilds?
We'll always be doing our part to organize fun battles in the RP-PvP community. We are always free to contact if other groups wish to approach us with events or ideas. However with the brutal nature of Darkfall, city destruction is a key part of the game. It is not likely Yew will be involved with any RP-guild city preservation should they be enemies to Hyperion.
