It amazes me even more that they refuse to make amends and give us our game back. Smedley and his blasted pride.

Even though they were NPC's and not creatures, they were NASTY and scared the sh*t of of me every time...  The Nightsisters!!!

God, I remember my first time on Dathomir when one of them yanked me off my speeder.  I've never been that scared in an MMO since!

These posts make me yearn for that first year or so in SWG... the best days in an MMO I've ever had!

Dathomir was a lot more exciting in the days when if you went there without a crate of swoops you'd be walking :)

Yeah, with vehicles, even with NS occasionally knocking you off them, Dath wasn't nearly as scarry a place as it was when you only had the on foot option to get around.

Dath was a place of constant danger because unless you were exceedingly careful, you could get multiple adds from multiple lairs while trying to concentrate on your ridiculously overgenerous Baz Nitch lair missions.

I remember when the "rare tames" first came out, and the rho kiwi guardian babies were considered amongst the rarest of the rares, but then the Village came out, and the constant traffic between the Science Outpost and the Village made them spawn so often that they lost any distinction they once had.  Most players just zoomed right over them, but the spawns were generated nevertheless, even if they only appeared to spawn behind you, someone behind you might have to deal with the aggro.

I remember turning on the overhead map radar and seeing this WALL of red dots along the path between SO and Aurellia.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

My holy grail as an MCH as well.

I can't recount the hours I spent wandering about in central Corellia looking for one of these beauties in baby form.  Killed lots of adults, but never saw a baby in the wild.

Actually my favorite pets were the raptors from Mustafar...they were really beautiful and had cool combat animations. Too bad I only got about a week to use one.

Last time I was in-game I stuffed the one from my datapad dropped it in my house. I had two people offer me over 500 million credits for it since I guess they are ultra rare now or something.

One of my favorite creatures was the woolamander as a bio-engineered pet.  I still remember the one that belonged to the first BE/CH I ever knew in SWG.  Captn Howdey was his name (the woolamanders...don't remember the characters name).  I liked the way he looked and as a noob entertainer/musician (on my first toon) he seemed powerful to me.  I like monkeys so on one of my CHs (yes, one of them...I played on 3 different servers during my time in SWG and each one had a CH) I had a "monkey" collection including a few woolamanders.  Another favorite of my pets was a rather large monkey type character I tamed on Naboo.  It wasn't easy to find (it didn't spawn in massive quantities).  For a master CH, it wasn't very high leveled but I had fun with it because of the size of the thing.  It's foot was as large as the bothan that owned it.  It was taller than the shuttleports so I loved to have that thing pace back and forth in front of the towns shuttle and get people's reaction in guildchat (or other chat channels) as they landed.

Replied before reading through all the other responses.  Another memory hit me.....my first encounter with a fambaa.   Was still fairly new and had been doing most of my grinding on Tat (2nd account that I got 1 month into playing, guns and ch toon).  Another person and I decided we wanted to try another planet.  We go to Naboo and get missions.  I think it was dark when we got to the fambaas.  I see the thing and react in a "what did we just get ourselves into?" manner.  Those things were huge to me at that point (I'd prob seen a krayt by that point and I knew the power of those things) and I figured the power of them would match their size.  As critters went in SWG, fambaas weren't exactly the weakest but they weren't exactly the most powerful things either (strength didn't really match up to size).

My favorite, apart from the big dino's that (as a ch) I could make shake an entire city :), was my plains hunter.  I tamed this beastie out in the middle of naboo.  About 2 weeks after I had tamed her the first creature extinction hit SWG and they were no longer tameable.  Last time I played someone actually offered me 100mil credits for her, I should have taken it lol.

There were a great number of other critters that I liked, most of which I had tamed and they all sit, silently, stored away in my datapad.  Too bad CH and SWG in general was ruined :(.

I have to say I was lucky and was able to tame one. A friend of mine was a Master ranger and she offered to help me look for one so the first day she went with me to find one I got one on the third spawn.  I even remeber the spot becuase we were joking I bet I would find a Bull Rancor first. For the life of me I can not rember what I named him.

The only pet I wished I coudl have tamed but never did was a frienzed grual. I was given one as a gift and named him Rare :P

I liked those Mamiens from Yavin 4. It was like having a pet monkey around

I still miss my little bio engineered bearded jax. I found it in a vendor when i was a noob. Half a year later I named it after my real life cat. I loved the animations and the sounds it used to do if you /pet him. He was totally worthless for anything except company but brave as a krayt and very protective. He died a lot. One day I had to (not really, but i believed so because i was a noob) kill a few wild bearded jax, and the heartbreaking sounds from them when i started to beat them made me feel really bad. Fortunately they killed me instead. Problem solved so to say. Yep, bearded jax is my favourite swg creature.

There are two creatures that  scare me from the NGE - The Ravenous Fanbois and the Boss Creature of Supreme Disgust  without him, the game would not would be what it is today (which is about nothing) -

Yes , I speak of the hill dwelling Smedster.

Mine was actually a love/hate relationship. Mighty was the Kreetle...

Oh, the kreetle, bane of the scout, scurge of rangers across the galaxies. How many times could such a simple insect ruin a perfect plan or cover? Whether in passing or a sudden spawn, the kreetle managed to wreck havok on us and skitter away laughing in it's simple clicking language.

Mighty was the Kreetle. Arguably, it would have been the perfect foe had it been equipped with hawt pants.

    It's really sad that I have forgotten the names of some of my favorites, but there were the following;

1] On my male avatar I had a dog named Lok.  I named him Lucky.  He would sit on his haunches and his tongue would stick out, and he looked so happy :)  He was bugged somehow because there were times for no reason he would just bolt off and attack something far away.  A couple of times he almost got me and my group killed and they would say, 'There goes your dog again," to which I would usually reply, "....that's not my dog."  He was my favorite companion.

    2) On the same male avatar, I had a two legged ton ton like creature from Tattooine named Shotgun.  I started riding him quite a bit when I started pvp more, because my bikes kept getting destroyed.

3] On my female CH character I had several favorites.  My most favorite was probably a tiger creature I tamed on Endor named Simba.  There was a large cat I tamed on Corellia if I am remembing correctly, that I named Galaga...also another favorite.  There was a HUGE king kong creature I tamed, lol...loved him.  I had a smaller gorrilla named Sally....she was quite a dancer.  There was a really big bunny from Yavin I think it was....he was huge and so cute!  I had a pair of really nasty spiders I used in pvp that were amazing.  And ofcourse there were rancors and grauls.

So many creatures, so many little and big friends that kept me company on my adventures.

Wow, the memories. I was a Master Smuggler that took just enough CH to get me a (what I thought) was a really cool side kick, my Chewy so to speak.

I settled on a Giant Crystal Snake!

    Loved it.
