Hey guys im looking for a game with a siege system like capturing towns or nations and becoming the king or ruler perhaps.
I also like Guild vs Guild combat but ive only really experienced that on Voyage Century Online which was great until the item mall arrived
So if you know anything with these kind of features where you can really change the economy in the game by taking over nations that would be really cool.
Also id really like to get away from the Gear > Skill concept of PvP (World of Warcraft)

I could be wrong, but doesn't Voyage Century also have a P2P version without the item mall? Anyways...
Town take over MMOs - Atlantica Online, NeoSteam, Tribal Wars, Rohan, and Fallen Earth when it comes out. However I don't know if taking them affects the economy or how.
MMOs with siege warfare - Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Archlord, World of Warcraft, Lineage II, Cronous, Prison Tale, Shadowbane, and 4Story. Mortal Online and Prison Tale II plan to when they come out.
Nation vs nation - The Legend of Ares, Metin 2, Sho Online, Cabal Online, Pirates of the Burning Sea, and Air Rivals. Godswar Online plans to also when it comes out.
You can look into those games to see which is more oriented towards skill than gear.

A work in progress: (Update: 08/09/10)Easily find your favorite type of MMO
thank you very much i will be checking PT2 out as i used to love PT but never could afford it a few year ago
In Atlantica Online, guilds control every town (except Rome). They can fight over towns, create nations with other guilds/towns. End game GvG is very fun. It's free too
Eve Online is although a Sci-Fi game, just what your looking for. Corporation in Eve can establish in an uncontrolled area known as 0.0 where they can build a couple stations and own systems. As a result of owning a nation you usually have to have a self-sufficient corporation where your crafters manufacture all your supplies using ore mined from nearby asterioid belts. There is also constant contesting of these systems where you get involved in massive fleet battles of sometimes hundreds of ships. Also every ship is just about equal, a battle between a frig and capital ship would end in a draw. This allows even newbies to have their role in PvP combat.
If your looking for a GvG game then I would consider looking into Guild Wars, its in the name. The level cap goes only up to 20, and you can even start at 20. And all the top gear is the same, its all about skill. But I do have to admit there is bias on both of these suggestions because I love both GW and Eve.
