im sure this has been posted numerous times.. but do u find urself standing in ur house for hours on end thinking of what you should/feel like doing? let me say i have 3 accounts.. my main (with a pre 9 unlocked jedi) she's master cm/rifleman.. my first alt who is master dancer/doctor... and my second alt who is a master smuggler/artisan.. I ground out 32 professions and most professions more then once.. till i decided on my alt's professions. I have ground almost to knight on my jedi.. but i find myself bored to tears. I run a successful guild and my guild has it's own city. Im a decent pvp'er but i dont think i have to mention why there isn't much pvp anymore. I have run a successful mall and businesses, through selling buffs to smuggler goods and loots. i have over 100 badges and have been to every possible place on swg 10,000 times.. did i mention i don't usually play over 3 hours a day? im currently thinking of making all my characters on the same account so i can try out some other games.. i have been playing swg since 2 weeks after release and i just can't take it anymore, i'm going to take along break and hopefully get the excitement to come back with jtl. is there any swger's out there who play other games as well..? any that u have a better review on then swg and how it compares? any input would be great. thanks.. "jedigurl"
I got a little burnt out on SWG too and am currently taking a break from it. I've been playing a lot of the free trials and some Beta's and found two that are kind of fun. The first one is Ashron's Call 2. The graphics are good just use a different style, and the crafting is pretty good (havesting can be a pain though). I don't play this one though because after SWG's skill based system, I wanted something easy and linear. AC2 actually had too many options for me and made me think too much
The other one is Horizons. It got some awful reviews and people love to bash it, but I really have a good time playing it. There are a lot of Race/Class combos and you can switch classes with no problem. It's a little bit on the easy side with no real penalty for dying and no PvP, but it has a neat crafting system and some great graphics.
From the information you have given, i'm guessing you enjoy the "deeper" side to mmorpg's....with this in mind...
CoH... a very shallow experience.
Daoc... far too advanced now for a casual gamer. Some fun to be had in low level battlegrounds which are highly populated if you like pvp.
Eve... very good community and a interesting crafting and business part to the game.
My account expires in SWG from the 19th sept'. I have lost all interest in JTL and jedi has no interest for me.
I would advise you to try the Daoc and EVE free trials...you may just enjoy the break. Just trying to stay with SWG will make you hate it all the more.
I can see you are a hardcore player. Even though SWG was intended for casual players (players who would play with one account LOLOL!), if one wants to play SWG hardcore, there's nothing stopping them. I won't get into saying "you made your bed, now you have to lay in it" etc..... [I pre-ordered 2 accounts before release. I knew I would breeze through the game twice as quick as intended, thus I have no "complaints" about getting through the content quicker. I "made my bed" and accept how it came out and lie in it without complaint. ]
-> So to the point. Maybe you should take a break from SWG. Cancel, or let your subscription run out. Then return back to SWG roughly 3 to 6 months from now when the newest expansion should be released..... JTL aka the SE aka the Space Expansion. A few times I took 1 month breaks from SWG.
BTW, what server name do you play on? Are you a member of any PAs? Joining a PA can help keep you busy.
As a last item, you can try your hand at being a newbie helper. On purpose help out new players with your incredible experience. Answer their questions on the forums, in game, maybe help them get on their way after starting.... just during their first 3 or so days in the game. It is up to you though if you want to do this.

No where in her post does she mention running a PA (guild) or city. She said she ran a successful mall and buisness. Any veteran player can have a successful buisness. A mall could mean a city. It could also mean she has a HUGE multi-floor mansion with tons of vendors on all the floors. Or even a bunch of seperate buildings with stores in each one that are all owned by her - if she choose to use up all her plots of land for that.
JediGurl, I forgot to answer your very last part in which you ask if there are any other games anyone recommends. I recommend you check out Anarchy Online which has some simular things as SWG, And some things that are better than SWG.
EvE Online is another game worth checking out - only if you like Sci-Fi a heck of a lot. There are tons of different types of ships, and space-themed things (astroids, space-stations, etc...)
If you are reallt that bored I recommend you do what I do, go out with a bang before you leave. Contruct some huge monument to your power(made of stone or corspes which ever you prefer). Kill everyone causing a hero to rise up and kill you. My personal favourite ending an empire just do the opposite to get where are watching as it crunbles and burns. Eve is boring, with over 100k of us we should make our own game.

alot of folks peeked back in after publish ten looked at the conversion rate of combat - experaince to grind force senisitve and discovered something similar to yourself
at a point in time it is reduntant and nuts
3 hours of time devoted daily to a game wow thats a hole lot of time that could be used in real life more constructively
But as far as suggestions for the game it sounds like when you log in you just do not feel like crafting, looking at another box, or going to a buff line to be buffed, and or even deal with guild drama if that is still happening in your guild
you in a way already answered your own question, if you cannot find something to amuze yourself then it is time for a break. Not so much as a good bye i'm made never coming back break,
just let me know when new content is around for me to see and play with again
there are new choices coming soon you may want to look and consider those choices and realize it isn't so bad trying something different or something new
you have accomplished alot in this game and the old addge it was fun for a while can apply here

lol what the hell does EVE have to do with giving someone suggestions because she became bored of SWG??
Anyways: To the Original Poster of this thread:
Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I found myself in my SWG house just staring at the paintings...I would then run outside and then about 2 seconds later I would scratch my head and then log off. Raph Koster really wanted this game to be a player-ran content mmorpg, but it didn't quite work out that way.
SWG still has some good points left...but it is a game that could have been made a helluva lot better.

thank you to all who replied.. ive decided to bring my guild over to saga of ryzom. 4 of us will be starting out the game on release. If we decide it's not for us we will move onto to the next I'm staying in swg as most of the guild will still be there and I am kinda hoping for some good times in JTL.. thanks again.. "jedigurl"

OK, Panache - you are 100% correct. I re-read it for the 5th time. It was hard seeing it the first time because she used all bold type.
