Is there anywhere I can do this without using the SOE launchpad? That thing is slower than a red-headed retard.

You can try downloading the earlier patches that came with the original game, but there's no telling how long those will take either.  After that you'll still have to download all the latest game updates.  I actually downloaded not too long ago and it really didn't take that long.  It starts out slow, but picks up after a while.  Best thing to do would be to just let it download overnight.  Unless you have 56k, you shouldn't have a problem.

However, let me just warn you, the game's sorta going downhill.  I removed the game the same day I downloaded it.  And this is coming from one of the open minded vets who played on and off since beta.  I never truly got irritated with the game until much more recently.  So just a friendly warning that you may be wasting your time.  But, it's up to you.
