It's already been confirmed that Darkfall is going to be digital download which raises an interesting quesion...

Where exactly is AudioVisual ? Weren't they supposed to print DVD's/Boxes and distribute hard copies?

Maybe they backed out?

AudioVisual is a pretty old and large company. They have a reputation to uphold. I find it really strange that they would be this silent 8 days to a launch if they were still involved.

As I recall the digital download is for US release only. Boxed sets are being distributed in the EU

Normally for Digital DL's the base client would already be up somewhere to DL so there wasnt a mad rush on the release day. And then you would just patch whatever wasnt part of the base on the release day before logging in. This sounds more Dark and Light the closer the "release date" comes.

I havent seen anything for Darkfall, or any information on where such a thing might be. Granted, I havent really looked either. But I would assume one wouldnt have to dig very hard to find a game client DL.

Then where is AudioVisual?

Boxes require commercial marketing...  printing, etc..

8 days to a launch and AudioVisual still has no info available?

Funny then that I have yet to find a retailer in the EU that offers the game or even mentions it as an upcoming title. At least those from which I usually buy games (including imports and rare titles) seem to have never heard of it.

The game would have to arrive in stores by the 21st of jan, at the latest. Which means, the game needs to be finished printing by the 18 or 19th.

I honestly believe the game won't launch on the 22nd either. 7 days from launch and there is no information on anything.

I have to call Aventurine on this one.. they are running one of the longest scams in MMO history and tons of people are falling hook, line and sinker for it.

Now if they do actually launch on the 22nd and it is a success then I will eat crow but I seriously doubt that will happen.

I doubt there'll be boxed copies on launch day.

And even though I'm a big fan of Darkfall, I'm actually starting to doubt it will meet its deadline. This close to launch, and no news for 20 days, and still an NDA.
