Delay is A GOOD THING

Once people stop trolling and whining they will come to 1 conclusion: Aventurine is right in delaying the game!

If you had folowed the beta leaks you would know that all the features are just now turned on (so as Tasos said in November it is feature complete) however the public testing is not finished/properly done.

Second the massive hype, 200-300k people wanting to play - this is unexpected for a niche PVP game. I remember just 1 year ago we had 50k on the forums and that is the number everyone was expecting to start beta/release with...and eventually grow if the game was good.

Now its more than 6 X that amount - so obviously things need to be rethought  -

Aventurine has just scored MAJOR POINTS with me, not letting a release date, hype and greed release the game half baked.

AoC did not do that, DnL did not do that and many other failed mmos.

Delay it if it means a better game at release!

They do have a lot of experience delaying. Through their previous delays they have learned a lot and have promised this to be the most polished delays ever seen in this genre. The game was ready to be delayed months ago but they wanted to make it perfect. Aventurine is making this delay because of the love of delaying and has nothing to do with money.

If they reall just wanted money wouldn't they just put up pre-orders right now with no free trial and launch on 22nd with an unfinished, not properly tested game?

Yea, what is another month. 7 Years just was not enough time to really get the ball rolling...don't you know that?

What was the last game that took that long to develop?

I have mixed feelings about delays.

Its obviously good that they straighten up and take extra time to finish the product.

Yet, it's messed up they even would have to do so from the beginning. I'd call it poor management/planning. To keep assuming and then pushing back constantly. And from what we have seen it STILL does not result in finished products that still are a huge mess that requires hotfixes and big patch notes.

Most are forced to set release dates by publishers, which sucks. It's better to just keep it up and release "when it's done" (blizzards motto).

I didn't say anything about money. The game had an estimated release date of something like 2004 how many years ago. I think I can makes jokes about them delaying.
