Beta for Pre order.....
Speaking of public beta, I read someone wished we would give a date, and equated that to professionalism on our part. I won't disagree with that, however giving a public beta date in order to get preorders, even if that means you have to announce consecutive delays, while professional, is not part of our business model

My interpretation of this is that he is saying that they do not want encourage people to preorder the game in order to get into the public beta, this is what a lot of companies do as recently demonstrated by WAR.

The pre orders are not for public beta they are for a head start which is simply an early release/access to the game. The beta is actually a 'trial' and they will probably not have a public beta. They stated very clearly that reason why is because they underestimated the interest in their game. This can definitely cause the problems they are facing. Tasos was still stupid to announce a date and say so many things in stone and is now in a position where he has to go back on his word and is realizing why what he did was stupid.
