Thats odd because WAR is a lot more casual than WoW. It requires even less thought to play and gives you less choice over what to do and where to go. I dont think people are going to be discouraged from playing WAR by people who quite rightly dont like the game. WAR will manage that job all on its own.

  • Its not worth flaming them over this and have a war between games. Just enjoy the game and try to ignore them. More and more of them will come to this game because they "beat" Wow

This game is really about competition RVR and its hard to beat. That is why this game is superior.

Well if someone is playing the game rather than reading these forums then obviously nothing anyone says here would matter would it. However the RvR conflict on these forums attracts a lot more attention than the flimsy RvR conflict in WAR. But like you said its best just to ignore people who dont agree with your opinion.......so I guess you wont be replying to this or posting anything else on these forums ever again will you

But yeah of course everyone will flood to WAR once they beat WoW......despite the fact that people have already "beaten" WoW years ago and yet they are still hanging around in it. Of course WAR is a superior game so everyone would rather be playing it. Its so superior in fact that lots of players just couldnt handle how brilliant it was and quit playing it in their first month. I wonder which game they went running back to? Hmmm I wonder.......could it possibly be the game which WAR tried to copy perhaps?

Oh yeah and the RvR in WAR is so hard to beat.......so hard in fact that Mythic had to actually "bribe" its players into trying it out by dangling shallow rewards in front of them such as extra shiny gear and more exp to help them along the levelling treadmill which is what the REAL focus of the game is all about.

I hate to say it, but everything WAR really does, is done better by WoW already. So in a direct competition between the two, I'd say get more for your money and just play WoW.

Yet WoW sieging is laughable.. That is a joke compared to War.  Also why pay for a game that holds your hand and gives you gear when you do NOTHING. At least you have to do something in War to get gear. Called contribution. I could just go afk in a BG and get honor which then will get me gear. Lol War = pvp, WoW = pve. and WoW PvP is horrible.

Played WOW for 2 years,  Have played WAR and still playing since a week after launch. There is some common ground between the two. But no more than most. I couldnt really tell much of a difference in WOW or LOTRO which doesnt subtract LOTRO being a good game.

WOW is the best game out I would probably say and I had a large time playing it but after 2 years I got burnt most do. WAR on the other hand was built from the ground up for RvR. Its a different beast all around. I really feel bad because I couldnt get into LOTRO because it did feel so much like WOW and I Love the Books. But I think calling WAR a bad copy of WOW is not fair at all. Its more of a copy of DAOC if anything.

Actually WAR wasn't built around RVR original in was ment to be based around instanced scenarios but because of feed back in beta they added RVR later on.

Maybe but still it was built for group pvp. Instancing is fun as well :)

GROUP PvP?! LMAO! What other kinds of PvP are there? Solo PvP?

Its pretty obvious that what Newhopes just pointed out about the game design of WAR actually completely wipes out any statement that follows the lines of "but WAR was designed as an RvR game" because it simply wasnt. Anyone who says it was is just lieing.

You dont even need to know about how the game was in beta because its clearly obvious just from playing the game that RvR is not really the centre of the game. The fact that you can actually bypass all of the PvP elements and not have those PvP battles have any effect on your gaming experience at all is evidence enough of that fact. You can live in the PvE areas right through the entire game if you choose to.

I think you are clutching at straws by saying "it was built for group PvP" because thats like saying WoW was also built for group PvP as well. Just accept the fact that WAR is a linear level-grinding treadmill exactly like WoW except it has some open empty spaces set to one side where players can go and fight each if they want to. The PvP playpens are there purely as a side option......a different method to climb the level ladder. Thats all. It also has instanced mini battlegrounds just like WoW does except you can join a queue for them from anywhere.

Yes you could actually solo pvp in Ultima Online. Had some great duels back in the day.

As far as staying in the pve area the whole game. Thats pretty much how it is these days isnt it? Seems you can either  about it or play something you like. We all know its a ladder game, again what isnt?
