But how can this not be one of the BIGGEST LIES ever told from an mmo company?
He has said it MANY times. That everyone would get to play before he ever asked a dime from anyone.
Ofcourse, he also told us all that he'd NEVER put a release date down that wouldn't be met. As well as telling everyone that this game is "ready to launch now" two months ago, etc etc etc...
How in the hell can any Darkfall fan NOT be FINALLY seeing the light at this point!??

Here comes Dark n Light 2. Only I'm betting that Dark and Light was actually a much better game, and less crooked then this POS when it's all said and done.
The fan will NEVER believe those of us who have been through all of this before... with Mourning, with DnL, with other total POS games that were nothing but lies, hype, and a total joke.

If you read the official announcement, it's said that instead of the game launching, an open beta/trial of the game will be available on January 22nd.

In all fairness though, this "free trial" will only be available to a limited number of people (because Aventurine does not have the infrastructure to satisfy the current demand). Under the given circumstaces, this makes it more like an invited beta test.
Hmm well most places that do preorders the money doesn't go to the game you preorder until you buy it. You can cancle a preorder and have the money transfer to another game.

Not what was said at all. If you believe what he said it is a very limited extension of the current beta for stress testing. I highly doubt anyone outside of EU will be invited and there was no mention of the NDA being lifted. Even the new "startup" will basically be for pre-orders only since I'm sure the sheeple will buy the pre-order by the thousands. This is not what Tasos promised at all, big surprise there.

How is it a sacm is nobody has paid anything yet. Also, the using preorder for open beta is nothing new in the industry. WAR did it. I still don't see how its a scam tho, since preorder money doesn't go to the game compnay until you actually buy the game and then you can transfter the perorder money to another game. Put $50 or whatever the damn pre-order price is on a pre-paid debit card BEFORE you pre-order and only put what the game costs on that pre-order card. DO NOT GIVE THEM CREDIT CARD INFO or your MAIN BANK ACCT DEBIT INFO and come here crying when/if they take 17 pre-orders "accidently" as I can already see Tasos saying before whisking away into the same dark places that the mighty Loud Ant software team went with the whole "Mourning" fiasco.

Where does it say that it will be a very limited release? I'm pretty sure he just said limited. I also believe that he said thousands of players would get in. Saying that only EU players will get in is purely baseless speculation. Nothing of that sort has been mentioned. Also, saying that mostly preorders will get in the open beta/stress test is not correct because the stress test starts on January 22nd but preorders don't start til mid-February.
I'm not saying you don't have a right to doubt what has been said, but twisting the words and adding in baseless speculation to suit your cause simply isn't fair.

In lieu of a launch, on the 22nd of January, Aventurine will be offering a limited free sample of the game to what they describe as “thousands of players”, with a promise to accommodate as many players as possible. It is interesting that the announcement comes up short of calling the event an Open Beta, although it does say that the company will use the time in order to have players “help us stress test our servers and test the final features of the game”.

1) Pre-order money doesn't go to the company, especially if you buy from retailer.
2) Using pre-orders to get access to open beta is nothing new WAR did it
3) Its only a scam when people start paying for a product that doesn't exist.
There have been several legitimate showings of DF, namely the Convention the game was shown at, some youtube videos, and MMORPG Italia. I'm not a fanboy. I don't plan on playing this game at launch.

They also stated the reason for the delay was because they had fallen behind in beta testing and needed more player data, as well as needing to stress test their servers with live players. So in effect some more players will be able to BETA test the game for FREE!!!!! Since they are not letting everyone in and have not stated they will be dropping the NDA this is not a open beta.
