Hello fellow MMO-Gamers,
I am in a dilemma. I simply don’t know which game to play.
Options are:
Lotro:
Pro: Environmental graphics are beautiful, there is a lot of diversity in items and character customization. Lord of the Rings background doesn’t hurt either. Strong community.
Contra: Stiff character anmimations.
Spellborn:
Pro: Unique graphical style which I like a lot. Intriguing and humorous quests. Combat system is unique and as I see it a big step forward. Items are only for aesthetics. Small developer worthy of supporting.
Contra: Weird character animations. Lack of standard MMO-features. Very small community. Most of the time you run around alone.
Age of Conan:
Pro: The most beautiful graphics. Top-notch character animations. Interesting combat system. Diverse set of classes. Mammoths.
Contra: No alternatives to PvE or PvP (Crafting). Standard-Quests. No clear direction of game development, at least in the beginnings.
Those are my options. Since I neither have the time nor the money to subscribe to three different MMOs, I don’t know which one to choose. Right now, I am playing Spellborn and Lotro, but the lack of ppl in Spellborn is really hurting this game. On the other hand my char in Spellborn looks so weird and unique that I already feel very attached to him. And the combat system is simply the best.
AoC I played in the beginning but like so many others cancelled. Since there has been some changes in management and game direction I was wondering whether I should give it another shot. I am really happy with Lotro, but the other two have features I noted above which tempt me a lot or are hard to give up.
What do you say?
Comments
I am unsure when The Chronicles of Spellborn plans to open up their game for others so unless the date is near I wouldn't bother with it. As for Age of Conan it all depends why you quit in the first place.
