A few questions...

I played back in 07 and want to come back. Dont have the expansion yet and was wondering if I started a new character and maybe got the xpac around 15 or 20, would I be missing out on anything other than the new classes?

Also on the most populated server is it still fairly easy to get  groups at levels 10-30?

One last thing how much bigger has the world gotten since release? Would most say that todays Middle-Earth is a decent size world map? Thanks in advanced

The maps a bit bigger now:

Evendim came in shortly after release (you might have played through it though)

Misty mountains and Trollshaws were both extended (MM doubled in size)

    Eregion

    Lothlorien

    Moria itself

    The world is very large.

If you are buying the game again, just by mines of moria as it comes with the entire game. Otherwise you don't need the expansion pack until about lvl 50 unless you want to play one of the new classes.

Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

No you wont miss anything but the new classes untill you are lvl 50 and wants to enter Moria.

I play on one of the smaller servers and have recently started a new character and have had no problems finding groups, even for quests that require full fellowship have been esay to find people for.

I think the world is probably twice as big now than it was at launch. Evendim , High pass, Tal bruinen, Forochel, Eregion, Moria and Lothlorien have been added. There will be plenty fo you to do if you just have a low level character.

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
