Just a little question and little poll. Recently I got done playing the wow beta stress tests, and I noticed a distrubing trend among many of the young players participating in this stress test. On several occasions I saw players in dire need of help, picked up one to many mobs, got agroed by something to high for them, ect... In almost all these instances I ran to that players aid, but I was bothered by the distinct lack of intrestest every other player in the sourounding area took in this situation. Infact, the few times I actually got myself into bind everybody who ran by me didn't look twice, dispite the fact that I was franticly pagging for help. This situation worsened when the crossroads, a village near the boarderlands of horde and alliance was being attacked. I through out a message into general chat explaining that the force we had to defend the city was unable to stop their advance, and the response that I got back was, "Shut the #$%^ up, I'm trying to @3$%ing level, who gives a #$%^ about the stupid PVP." I mean I could understand this players frustration if I was spamming the chat, or if that was a global channel as oposed to local, but as neither was the case, I think that was just a we bit rude.
My question really is two fold
1. Do you ever come to the aid of a total strangers in MMO's?

There are people who still help. You might find that less in beta because your characters don't last long since once the game goes gold, you are starting over. Some people have stopped helping because they got burned in someway before when they helped.(yeah lame excuse, not saying its a good one) Then there are the people who really don't give a damn.
Honestly it matters on the person and the situation. I will agree that their are people that still help I sure as heck know I would help but there are those people who have aided someone and in return the person would b*tch at them for helping....so I guess yea in a test where you know this isn't going to last long alot of people would look to that as an excuse to not help anyone. Which isn't cool but hey there isn't a whole lot that can be done about it.
