So pretty happy overall Combat is getting better with the new combos. However my biggest issue is the 1 vs 1 combat. I got used to taking on 3-4 critters at the same time and having splash damage on nearby attackers. So its hard to go back to attacking one at a time. The other features counter this however.
Please don't take this as a put down of AoC because that is not what I mean by this but.
In LoTRO the combat is a bit more tactical. I can take on 2 or 3 creatures of equal level pretty easily but I have to think about those fights a bit more and if I hose up and hesitate or zig instead of zag I am a dead cookie. If I attempt to fight them the same as I fight a single mob I will get my ass handed to me on a platter.
With my Minstrel I will use fear and drop out of Warspeech as soon as my healt gets below a certain level when I get adds, With my LM I use the stuns and roots and make damn sure I don't break them with a AOE attack. With my Burglar I use his stuns and dazes. Different classes also have other skils which help, it's not always about just run in and attack with LoTRO. Last night with my Minstrel I was using a skill called Song of Distraction to sneak by a pair of 10K elites so I could snag a quest item and it worked.
Don't buy what the trolls say, combat in LoTRO is pretty damn challenging unless you fight one greenie at a time LOL.
Don't sweat it you will get the hang of it and I really can't give more advice than that cause you Warden is higher than mine and I wil be asking you for tips when I get around to leveling him.
