Maybe I am just greedy but...
I want people to try this game. Cause personally, I think its gonna suck. So if this game actually releases, I want lots of people to go play it. Cause it won't be me.
Then, if it does suck. They will whine and cry and I know I made the right choice. I win.
If its actually feature complete and everything is as it should be then I subscribe. And wow, I get to play a kickass game. I win.
And who cares if they are a few weeks ahead of me, even if it is a PvP centric game. If the game mechanics don't allow me to eventually be competative with those who started before me. Then the game is doomed anyway. Word will get out, and there will be no new blood. It will grow stale and die.
So stop yelling at people or trying to convince the fanbois that their "game wetdream of the month" is crap and they shouldn't play it. Encourage them to play it. They will beta test it for you. I know I have jumped in many games on release day, and ended up "beta testing" it for those who were wise enough to wait a bit. And who cares if you are wrong and the game rocks? News flash, it won't be the 1st time you were wrong, and it won't be the last.
Of course this all depends on if it releases. If it doesn't release, what has any of us lost? Nothing, we never had it to begin with. At least you got some time to dream about it when things in your life got slow, like waiting in lines at the store. Then we all start lookin on to the next game on the list coming up. As for the haters, do you think anyone will care that you were right if it doesn't release. In you own warped little minds you might think they do, but guess what, they don't.
In the end, to the fanbois, do you think anyone respects your rabid devotion to an unproven product from an unproven company with a lengthy and shady development period? Even if the game IS awesome, that won't jusitfy the pre-release devotion you showed to it. Because that devotion was not BASED on anything. Any moron can get lucky at the blackjack table, so to speak.
To the haters, do you think anyone will care that you were right if it fails to release or flops soon after? Do you think that basking in the glory of your "rightness" will make you or anyone else think better of you? Cause frankly I doubt that will happen. And with the amount of dissapointments we have had the last few years in this genre, the last thing we need is people cheering for products to fail.
Hell, I don't know what this genre needs, its so stale now. Maybe thats really whats driving all this fanatacism, we are all bored to tears so we spend our time PvPin each other on the forum boards.
I guess what I am saying is, relax. Let people get excited about whatever they want to get excited about. Cause with the way things are going, they are probably going to be dissapointed anyway. At least they have months and years to dream before whatever title comes out. And I mean that toward all upcoming games, not just Darkfall.
In the end, the proof is always in the pudding. And no amount of loving or hating the pudding before its done, will make it taste any sweeter.

Its a Win/Win situation is what I was pointing out if you try looking at it from that perspective. I win, we win, whomever wins that follows that road.

Don't worry you will be able to pre-purchase a beta key soon here. Its a win-win situation. Adventurine makes a profit and gets people to test the game and find all the bugs for them! This game is potentially revolutionary in its upcoming open beta/release.

That concept is hardly revolutionary. In fact, its par for the course. Almost every major release I have played in the last 3 years has come out in beta shape and basically got people to pay to beta test for the 1st 6 months after release.

For me this means let everyone else pre-purchase, test beta, and wait for some bugs to be fixed. Observe the game from a distance then 3-4 months down the road I will try to make an educumicated decision to try it out.

Man you are thick. I said the win statement had nothing to do with actually winning in the game. It has nothing to do with it being a FFA PvP game. The statement was directed at the arguement of the game releasing or not, and being feature complete or not.
And yeah I will stay on the safe side of not spending my time and money on an untested product from an unknown company until I hear from the community on if its worth a damn or not. That's because I am not a rabid fanboi. I am relying on you, the rabid fanboi to test it for me. And Thanks, btw.

Well, since we have no real facts about DarkFall. All we have is opinion. So if we didn't voice our opinions, we wouldn't have much to talk about DF. As far as I know, and I could be wrong, we have no 3rd party source that has verified much of anything. I mean the press hasn't even seen this thing in its actual release gameplay condition. My main concern is this fanatical love/hate that has been spewing all over this forum. I mean, in the absense of facts, what justifies this? Though as stated in some threads, its entertaining for them. Which in my opinion, which I know you don't care about but since you voiced yours I shall voice mine, is kinda sick. I guess I want to hold this community to a higher standard than that. I know...I know...I'm nuts.
