Hey folks I left last year in anticipation of warhammer (please no flaming, I already know)... anyway was wondering how the community is and just a quick overview of the state of the game now. I was on a pvp server and loved it. (I left to look  for a bit more hardcore pvp and rvr, and it really was never done right in warhammer IMO).... whats new?, expansions?..content?..

I appreciate any info from people that are currently playing game.....

I have been reading other peoples posts and comments and I am getting a good idea about whats been going on... if there is any news or info about the PvP servers I would still like to know... I had a 55 warden when I shut it down..

Please don't take this the wrong way, but the answers you seek are found in abundance in this section. This question gets asked every few days. Take some time and have a look around (starting with the stickies).

However, this is how this thread will most likely go.

Someone will come and tell you how Sony Marketplace has destroyed the MMO world and everyone they know has quit.

Someone will then respond with the fact that servers are seeing an increase in population and how none of the Marketplace items have any serious influence. They will point out that the only items that give you a benefit over other players are the xp potions, and they have been available in-game since launch.

It'll then go back and forth until one of the nicer posters in this section explains that there's more content for both solo and group players and that you can comfortaby solo any class to 80 by simply following the questlines given here.

Shortly after that, there will be some thinly veiled insults saying how x expansion ruined the game and that SOE eated their cookies and that everyone who speaks well of the game clearly must work for SOE.

Finally, there will be 2 people flogging the dead horse.

All joking aside, have a look around and I bet you'll find the answers you seek within 30 minutes. If not, I'll gladly answer them for you.

Aha! You posted this whilst I was typing my response. Good on ya.

What would you like to know about the PvP servers exactly?

The top complaint I see currently is that the two Shaman classes can't go anywhere solo

  • lakehunterlakehunter Member Posts: 21

Thanks Darwa... are you on a pvp server?... and if so has the new marketplace affected your server?... is the level difference the same ?.. I believe it was you can kill or be killed within 5 or 6 levels of each other?

I have a lvl 80 Inquisitor on Nagafen (US PvP non-RP), but that's sort of a 'hobby' toon nowadays.

It's dying there slowly but surely mate. People are either rerolling on a PvE server, or simply playing other games. I logged on my toon there just now to ask, and was told lots have gone to Age of Conan now the servers have merged.

The Marketplace hasn't made any difference at all. In all honesty, there is nothing being sold that is of any consequence. Maybe that will change, maybe it won't, but I'm sure not gonna worry about it :)

The level requirements are still the same: 1-8 levels. Most players tend to lock their xp and work on their AA at lvls 22, 32, 42, 52, 62, or 72 it seems. The difference AA can make is rather devastating in PvP.

I don't play PvP in EQ2 often though, so hopefully someone with more current experience could help you out.

Oh, and don't forget to take a look at the official server forums and see how things are. I don't recommend anyone visits eq2flames though. Ever.

Thanks for all the info ... that is the server I was on... I hate to hear that it is slowly going by the wayside...and my friend and I might look elsewhere until something else pops that can hold our attention... I was an avid EQ fanatic... good with DAoc, ok with EQ2 played WoW for 3 months and found it very boring) and completly tired of Warhammer...might float back around... Is there any talks of combining the servers?

I've not seen any official word on merging the PvP servers. I can see them merging Nagafen and Venekor (RP) in the future possibly, but definitely not Vox (the Station Exchange enabled one).

What is disturbing is that that is exactly how far too many threads usually turn out on most forums...

Okay, second time since I couldn't seem to find the right quote option: What is disturbing is that that is exactly how far too many threads usually turn out on most forums...

I am also looking to return to my beloved EverQuest 2. Since launch I have loved this game, normally I am a pvp'er but EverQuest just makes me feel like exploring and getting involved in the lore. As of late I have been on a pve binge on World of Warcraft (my refuge when i burn out of EQ2) and honestly, I can't get enough of it.. err couldn't I should say. I have grown weary of World of  Warcraft, and want to go back to mah baby, EQ2. How goes the server population of Blackburrow? Does anyone play there, or if someone could be so kind to log in to the character creation screen and let me know what the population is? Hopefully it isnt heavy.

The deed is not finished yet.. I have not reactivated because I am at work now >< but believe me, I cannot wait to get on again.

If any of you want to quest or group, I have a level 72 Berserker, Xantheus.. and a level 50ish .. Dirge I think, Luido.

Take care and hopefully we meet along side eachother in battle defending.. oh what ever you get it.. its epic :)

Hi bryan. I just checked the server load for you, and it's currently on medium.

Nadia here plays on Blackburrow, so I'm sure you'll get a good response from them soon

  • NadiaNadia Member UncommonPosts: 11,798

yes I'm on Blackburrow -- its not as busy as AB by a longshot but it's not empty either

I have chat channels "on" for all levels under 80 and despite that, its not spammy

Ive only recently starting playing a level 38 SK alt

and I see people recruiting for DFC, Runny Eye and ROV in the 1-9 channel often

playing as a level 65-75 necro

if I put up my LFG flag, I have gotten groups for Seb, Karnors Castle, Unrest - or sometimes I get no group

it should be noted that with the new Guild Halls, the cities are pretty empty

    but Guild Halls rock !

if you are eligible the 5th year rewards, you get a charm that refreshes your vitality once a week

and experience from 20-70 is much faster since LU 49

    EDIT:

I play Lyna, 76 Necro  or Nadyn, 38 SK if you have any questions ingame on the Blackburrow server

  • bryan58bryan58 Member Posts: 55

Thanks for the fast responses! Just got back from lunch and I see two responses, thanks so much! It's good to see Blackburrow still alive and kickin'. Yes, I am eligible for 5 year reward and the fact that it refreshes vitality will make leveling even easier and rewarding than before. Now, I just need to get Shadow Odyssey. Hopefully I see you on Blackburrow sometime soon Nadia! Shoot Xantheus a tell if you ever see me online! I always love to group :) TAke care!

--Oh! I figured I should also note that the last time I played was back in August of '08.. so I'm curious to see how much changed with tso, kind of excited too :D can't wait!!--

I think that is RIGHT before I canceled my account, I knew they were doing a complete overhaul of everfrost but I can't for the life of me remember whether they had implemented it yet.

I think before I quit they had moved on with the shadow odyssey prequel world event thing... I forget what stage it was in, but I had the cool tempest chaser name :)

Thanks for the link though! I will read through it to see if anything looks familiar - or new :) *crosses fingers*

Awesome, just read some of the patch notes. Some of the features are small, but those small things enhance gameplay so much! For instance, not having to search the market for overpriced abilities after you hit level 50 :) That is one of my favorite additions, though I'm sure there will be much more that I will notice when I reactivate and begin adventuring!
