OMG..my sub ran out the night before last. I was gonna wait till I got paid to resub...but I tried the 6 month option at no cost just now and it worked!!! .It is free....but why????

I just read their official forums. Sounds like it may just be a bug.

I swear to god on my kids it worked for me and it is playable as I write this. I even deleted my credit card info......Something is fishy here...maybe a bug????

If the site says you can play for free then you must be able to play for free. Isn't that a legal thing or something? "Cheating" customers is forbidden.

Maybe they are trying to change it to the way they have AO setup. F2P and to enjoy the full content you need a paying subscription? but i cannot see them just out of the blue implementing this into the account section without any type of press release or info to the community.
But that would have to mean there is a expansion right? Because I have a level 80 and 45 and the 80 has seen the entire content? How would they be limited in play now?

Just tried it, and I got that same screen, reactivated the 6 month option at no cost and it took with no charge to my credit card. Account is active and usable.
No clue dude. Right now everything is speculation until we receive an official one way or another.

My guess is they have been hacked. If the players see a sudden upswing of gold sellers the next couple of weeks, and this f2p isn't confirmed officially, then it would be a sure bet.

It was not supposed to appear, but it sounds like the design of that section is intentional. Let more speculation run rampant.

It does not work because it was an error. Our registration system runs all of our games (including Anarchy Online which is F2P) and this was a minor error that was quickly fixed. Sorry for the confusion guys.

They cannot legally charge you if the price on the website was zero. All they can do is some kind of rollback on all those accounts that used the bug.
I've been thinking about one thing.. if AoC goes F2P do you think it will have an item mall?

I DID try it and it DID work. My account IS (or at least was) active and no money was charged on my credit card. You don't believe me? Then I guess I have the cry myself to sleep tonight..
Giving you benefit of the doubt, you did in that case just try the first option. You did not try to confirm charge. If you had done that, you should have gotten the same error as me.
I will not cry tonight. I will do something else
funny thing , they screwed up some pr deal and created some free products , well guess play as long as it works , but dont start crying when they shut it down.
