I just rejoined SWG in a vet trail the other day. I moved both my accounts to Bria. Yes the population is higher but that isn't the problem. The main problem and the only one worth mentioning is COMBAT
It is still slow, boring and still broken to no end. I have a level 82 Jedi spec'd out as a Dark Jedi for DPS. Unfortunately you get your butt handed to you by stuff lower level then you are. There is still bugs around from the first day that the CU/NGE went live such as getting stuck where you cannot attack anything unless you restart the client.
The game is pure crap still. The only good thing I have found so far is that house decorating has been fixed to make it alot easier to decorate again. If I wanted to play SWG for pure home decorating purposes then this game would be the best on the market. However, SWG is about a struggle between good and evil and unfortunately it fails horribly in that department. I will not resubscribe after the vet trial period is over with.
I have call BS on this post when comparing combat from pre-cu and what we currently Combat is vastly faster you must not be using auto-attack with out auto attack on comabt will seem slow, the "Y" key enables auto-attack when you 2-click a enemy.
PvP is fast and one mistake and either you or your foe are sent to the cloner no longer will you 1/2 hour battles between defense stackers.
You may want to get the mod that brings the old interface back also I use it.
Some professions 1vs1's can go on for quite a while. A light Jedi vs Medic or Medic vs Medic are both combinations that can result in a long drawn out fight...

Read the entire thread before you respond so you don't look dumb. I would wager your post would have been different had you seen my responses throughout the entire thread. I took the advice of Obraik and was able to complete those missions and fight without dying. I then thanked people for the good advice given to me.
I am having a good time in game now although it will never match Pre-CU I am still having a bit of fun and in a new guild with some good people.

LOL. PvP in SWG is some of the worst in any game I have played. Pre-CU was far too slow but it had a chess-type quality to it that made it tolerable. NGE combat isn't fast, it's the same as Pre-CU minus the chess element, and sped up to appear to be fast.
It's essentially the same just dumbed-down. Speeding up the combat without changing the combat system was a major design mistake made by the developers.
I have a returning vet commando at about the same level so I'll give you the easy cheap, no ent. buff setup that works ok for me.
First junk any of the level reward weapons you might have gotten and go shopping for the best rifle you can. I have a DP-23? The kind that looks like the old CDEF model that does like 320 max damage and just looted a 270 damage one out of an animal last night (you want to talk strange things? Why do you find weapons inside animals?). Anything in that range will give you a fighting chance when used with the right combat specials. Speaking of those, at your level drop any of the gernade attacks and flame attack specials and concentrate on the straight gun specials and stat pluses (percision, ability etc....).
Next if you haven't done them yet go back and do the 2 profession quests that you got books for bunker cleanout and the sand pirate one just to get some loot to sell and pocket cash.
Now for good armor: Go to Dearic cantina on Talus and do Mort's Clone armor quest. Count on getting knocked down some especially in the hotel but it is soloable and you'll get some good numbered armor.
I don't do Ent buffs but do make use of the injection gun buffs that you loot. Their free, easy and do help.
After all of that you should be set up nice enough to take on anything (1 at a time) up to 10 levels above you. Stay away from the elites (with the claw around their level color dot) and you'll be fine.
Thanks much, it was a great help, going from a pikeman to a commando is a little wierd overall. I was knocked around quite a bit, Constitution + Luck+ Precision and I was finally able to complete the quest.
You're getting killed by mobs that are lower level than you?
I don't care what kind of gear you have, I can solo elite mobs that are the same level as me without wearing any gear at all...I know this because I discovered today that I accidentally took off my level 80 robe and went questing...So I don't think it's the game, I think it's you.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Does anyone read the entire thread before they respond. From your response I would say no you don't. Go back and reread the entire thread.

Very classy.
