Pre-order DF or not, what does it matter, its your money. Or you could use the money for something else like investing in stock, buying a cool shirt, getting a round of drinks for you friends.
Consume the pre order or not, it is your choice and has nothing to do with whether you are a "smart" or "smarter" consumer.

Well preordering something you haven't tried, not even seen, not even heard any comments from friends or trustful resources... it's not really smart. It's not even normal. I would say it's below normal, if you understand my meaning.

It may not be the smart thing to do for some people or to others it maybe the only thing they can do.
So, the decision must be made on an indivual bases. You must do what you feel is right.

Trust me. It feels right.
No doubt it's ultimately up to each of us whether we wana spend on a game or not. But i still think it's good to warn other players if we smell something fishy going on. Wouldn't want what have happen to DnL, Vg, AoC, War etc happen to corn others again.
Not only this serve to warn players, but also developers. That we shall no longer be scam, we shall no longer accept an un-finish game.
So when pre-order starts, i hope lesser players will buy till they see the full product once the free trial started. Or else dev will just grap the money will go and other company seeing this will come up with another so-call promise sand-box game again a few years later and the whole circle repeats again...
All these got to stop. And it start with us, players....

Im waiting for Darkfall sinds 2003 do you realy think ill wait i dont care if i spent some money while not tested ill take that risk and besides for me there is nothing else to play if it comes to mmo's ive not played sinds AoC and in past 3 years ive played mmo 2 months totall and that was failor AoC:P
Darkfall is my hope for future period:)

True discussing the perils of pre-ordering is just being a good member of the community.
But in the end the decision is one that a person must make.
Also, if the devs are going to do anything, for good or for ill, past experience will not dessuade them from it. We have plenty of example of this.
