God it pisses me off when...

...People Bash this game gues the leveling is hard. What do you want, to be level 60 by the end of the month?! well it dont work like that, you have to EARN your levels...you think this game gets repetitive when you do nothing but power level...i played EQ, SWG WOW Beta and City of Heros....talk about boring! The only thing i got out of those games was a Jedi Toon in SWG and $1000 for him on ebay. ok i can understand the 80 days = Baleted deal kinda sucks, but look at it threw Squares eyes...they dont want their servers littered with accounts that have been inactive..diablo 2 does it DAOC does it and so did EQ at one point. And the graphics dont suck either, the GFX in FFXi are some of the most rich gfx i have seen. And sure the jap players may run rampent in the game, BIG DEAL! I have met some very nice people from Tokyo that play the game and they are not at all mean. Oh and those idiots posting on EBGAMES have no idea what it is to play a mmo, that is the single worst place to read reviews.
so the end of my rant is this...with the new EXP comming next week we are gonna see some big additions to an already big game.
BTW, out of nowhere...TOOL SUCKS

just in reply to your post: I am an X-FFXI player... The reason I did not enjoy it that much was because of the lack of people willing to go and adventure the world! Leveling would come with time so there wasn't much of a rush... I wanted to go around the world and fight exotic creatures.. I had a level 39 Monk/WHM and spent most of my time adventuring / NM hunting. I quit due to #1 nobody else willing to visit other areas / ppl staying in the same 4 zones!! and #2 when I was trying to level up... It took me about 2 hours to get in a party who then disbanded after one fight!!!
I think the game had great concepts and I enjoyed it, but the players on the server I was on atleast, Sucked the happiness out of it for me
I was on Alexander server btw.
Its not that the leveling is hard, its that the game blows. I dont wanna lvl up to lvl 75 just so i can look just like every other joe blow with the same weapons and armor. The UI is the worst I have ever seen in any game period. Lack of mob types, BORING. Its just a boring, unexciting game, not to mention all the people who look for a group for 3+ hours, its just a joke.

Why would anyone play Lineage2???? Thats almost as bad as FFXI. In EQ I waited 15 mins for a grp, tops. Try World of Warcraft, its much better.

Well, I found FFXI boring not because of the leveling, finding a party and leveling was fun. The thing I did not like was... what's the point of getting to level 75? No live events, no pvp... leveling is leveling and just that in FFXI. In WoW, you had a reason to lvl because of the live events and pvp. I couldnt find one in FFXI.
Oh, yeah and the customization sucked.
FFXI- Quit after 10 months
Ultima Online- Quit after 25 months
Ragnarok Online- Quit after a week

He just said he played for 10 months, why do ppl always assume that if someone thinks the game sucks they only played for a week??? The game SUCKS period, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year. Yes it is a polished game, no glitches or lag... yay! The GAME itself sucks. Id rather play a glitchy game that was actually good, than play the cheezy ass game they call FFXI.

The levelling was slow, the character movement was bad, the world was pretty small, but heck. For some reason this game I held onto the longest. Played it for a whole 3 months.
Here's why I quit:
Around level 30 it came to the point where your sitting there for an hour going "Level 30 so and so looking for group SEND TELL!!!" just sitting there. Then the combat, you get 6 people huddling around a small rabbit slashing at it for a while, and most of the players are afk grabbing a drink at that point. What really pissed me off was losing XP. Once you die, there goes an hour straight down the drain.
But here's the #1 reason why I personally want to slap Square across the face.
If your account becomes inactive for 3 months, YOU HAVE TO BUY A NEW COPY.
This is the most stupidest thing i have ever heard in my life! I know all companies create their game to make money, but this is just rediculous.

Post like this are the ones I hate. Someone that seems to think that. Because they say it 'sucks' that that automatically makes it true. News flash friend... the world does not rise, and set on your ___. You think the game sucks fine. Just don't go shouting the game sucks like it's a fact just because you said so.

OK hows this? The UI is extremely cumbersome, the mobs are all alike and not enough variety, no char customization, grp lvl diff/exp are way too strict, finding a party can take hours, weapon and armor variety is way too low, everyone looks the same due to only a few char mods, POL login/logout takes WAAAAY too long, no speed buffs, I could go on and on but its just not worth it. Those my friend are facts.

Nope they are facts.
Grouping is too strict compared to other MMO's. True.
Grping can sometimes take hours wether or not its true for other MMO's as well. True.
Assortment of items low compared to other games, I dont have to provide a chart, Ive played them. True.
Login/logout of POL not FFXI. Longer than any other MMO. True.

Hate to burst your bubble, but yes they are still 'opinions'. Gunblade is correct here.
'YOU' think grouping is too strict compared to other MMO's. Being able to group with only people 1 to 3 levels above me was fine with me.
'YOU' think grouping can sometimes takes hours. I never had any problems finding a group until 50. At which point I joined a static PT.
'YOU' think the assortment of items is low compared to other games. Once again saying something as if it is 'fact'. Does not make it true.
'YOU' think the login/logout of PoL was longer then other MMO's. Ok I see you have never played many MMO's. You need look no further then Horizons to see the longest login ever.
Ramadin it's hard to take you seriously. When all you seem to do. Is show this "I say it so therefore it's true" attitude you seem to have. So far you've done NOTHING, but spout off opinons. The only thing you've proven so far. Is that you seem to have some deep seeded hatred for FFXI.
At first glance I'd hanker a guess that. You were probably one of the many folks. That got pissed off at your friends leaving EQOA (PS2) for FFXI. Maybe you are just a hard core EQ (PC) fan. Whatever it is you have something you need to work out. Because anytime you let something affect you to the point. Where you feel it is 'ok' to come on an open forum. To proclaim your type of baseless arguments. You might need to step away from gaming for a while.
Like I said before. It's one thing to not like or even hate a game. Saying it 'sucks' and believing it to be true. Just because 'YOU' say so. Makes you look very foolish.

Funny how I have to provide "facts" to show how poor of a game it is, while I see no "facts" from the fanbois of how its a "good" game. Well all you have to do is look here at the forums and see that people hate it, dont act like its just me.

I would think that the 300,000+ subscribers would be enough fact. More then AO and more then DOAC. Both of which are good MMORPG's.
Just because there are a few people on this forum or any other that hate the game. Does not in any way indicates that it 'sucks'.
The only thing that 'sucks' is that 90% of the people on this forum. Can't tell the difference between 'opinion' and 'fact'. Like I said you can 'hate', 'loathe', 'despise' the game all you like. 'Fact' of the matter is that FFXI is a very successful game.
While I can 'prove' that FFXI is a good game through the shear amount of active accounts. While you are stuck with the 'opinion' that means pretty much nothing to anyone, but yourself. After all what's that famous saying. "Opinions are like ###holes. Everyone has one." That's another 'fact' for you.

nah its just overhyped, the FF name has quite a following, it'd be an ok single player game its just a bad MMO. And big deal 300k play FFXI, more people DONT play it than do play it, its relative. Besides that, just because you say it dont make it true. I bet over 1,000,000 people play Minesweeper on their PC, that dont make it good, its just something to pass the time. Funny how many people make personal attacks when you say their game blows. When WoW and EQ2 come out they will lose a good number of people. The sad thing is that theres really no good MMORPGs out until then.
