HORRIBLE! The new look is amateur and vile. Plus the new polls don't even show bars for the percentages.. who's bright idea was that?..make something less informative??...yeah that's a great idea.
Not that I should be replying to this, but sometimes it wouldn't hurt to consider if it might not be something we intended. Obviously the poll bars are broken.
When looking at the Game List, clicking on "Rating/Hype" should list them by default first in descending order, not ascending. This has been driving me nuts for years. When people click on that, they want to see the top games listed first, and should not have to click it twice.
I must agree with the majority of others. I've taken a good amount of Graphic Design classes and currently in my Senior year of Art school and I can tell you the new look leaves a lot to be desired. If I had one main Gripe, it would be what most others have said. Because of the Lack of Contrast between colors, the different sections all blend together to the eye. Increase the contrast and you solve this problem. The old site design was perfect in my eyes and was great in that aspect. Try pushing the colors to get darker darks and lighter lights.

I guess it's fine. My only real substantial complaint is that under Game Forums" I would prefer the lists to be out by default instead of having to click it out. The scrunching them together isn't necessary as the interface is already pretty snug.
Game Forums listing doesnt stand out enough. I like the thought of grouping them instead of just having the most popular MMO's listed. This might force people to see forums theyre looking for instead of requesting the forum gets added to the site when it actually is.
However, it just seems too buried now and not much of a focus of the site. Maybe add the games list to expand on mouse over or something? Maybe consider moving the games forums list section to the top right of the page or top left of the page and move the user settings panel thats currently top left to top right.
and I like most of the new layout and some of the new features and buttons, but dont like the color. The tabs, the thread colors etc. lack contrast that the old forums had.
maybe give us an option to pick a theme and give us some color options.

I have to say I am not getting this grey look at all,I dont think it is at all easier on the eye, maybe in time I will get used to it but I think I will always prefer the black.
Agreed, I don't care for the white text on gray background, seems harder to read.

I personally love the new design, I think its easier on the eyes in general. also seems like it loads a bit faster in Firefox, although that could be caused by a multitude of things. Either way, I like it.
Many times now when backspacing to a previous page and/or reloading the page the "page numbers" for the threads are not lit up correctly. Like I'll be on page #3 but #1 is lit up instead!
Also, can you please expand the signature edit box in our profiles. Just make it much wider than the very small condensed box it is now. Would make it much easier when editing it...thx!
Issue: I click on a post I notice in New Forum Activity. This brings me to the last post in that thread, as per usual for mmorpg.com. I prefer to start with the first post and read the entire thread, so I go to click '1' so I can begin there. The problem is, the site thinks I AM on page one already- it's not clickable, but I'm on the final post on page 2 (or 3). I have to click '2' to reload the page I am on, then click '1' to be brought to the first page of the thread. (This has happened 5 times, so it's not a one-off).
As much as i'd like to say I love the gray as the default, I have to lean with the majority of the bunch. The colors in the background though (deep purples and dark blues) represent MMORPG.com better IMO.
Would be nice to be able to delete a message in the mailbox without actually having to open the message. Currently there are boxes that can be checked in your "in box" but nothing to do once you have checked them.
Eh... not a fan of the grey tones that you guys decided to use. Seems like a step backwards rather than making any progress, but I'm sure you guys are still working on it. Not sure what design class the coders took, but generally speaking White text on a grey background isn't that great...
1. Next and Previous buttons on forums (Already suggested)
2. RGB sliders that let me choose my own color for the background
3. The ability to just give the game a overall user rating by clicking and sliding on the rating bar on the mainpage for the game. (Instead of clicking the ratings tab, trying to rate and failing, noticing you have to click "cast your review", and then clicking on 1 on each of those pesky little bars because it took me 10 minutes to get there)
4. More help for Jon, he must be REALLY swamped. 11/25/08 and still waiting Jon! :P
5. A raise for the volunteer writers, like maybe 20$ a article at least. You know how much flaming we have to take? We need hazard pay, and maybe a pension. (lol, tis a joke this one)
EDIT: Forgot one... 6. Rating system applied to blogs.

So what's this "Lore" tab I keep seeing? Like how does lore get submitted and everything?
It looks pretty clean! Not a big fan of the grey though.
The slider doesn't work here. Firefox 3.0.5, no problems with IE.
I must say I liked the slider of the old homepage a lot more, you could more easily see what news there was.

sorry but the old layout looked much better

Whoops! I guess we didn't hassle Jon enough for that one.
Do you want to hassle him or shall I do it? I know some torture techniques.

If I browse a thread I dont see anymore the option for next or previous page. So I have to click on the numbers.
Is there a workaround for this?
Not that great of a change imo, if you would of added the new options on the old layout, it would have been fine.

But overall....The new style is very convenient
