I woulden't hold my breat, By the time they are done with this game we will eb able to play it on our next gen mobilphones and that will probebly be the only way to make the game look somewhat decent since it will be about it 20year in dev anniversery.

I am a fan of what they are trying to do, and I love the concept. I think they should go ahead and delay at least one more month though. That is not because I am a hater or troll, but because I want the best for the game. Either way I will play at launch for sure.

just out of sheer curiousity Profred, are you an overly optimistic guy in real life too? I am seriously not trying to troll, but you have been an ardent supporter of almost every game that has launched in the last year, being very vocal, then you fade away and come back with a new game.
Just trying to understand if you really do give every game/company the benefit of the doubt, which is not a bad thing, like i said, just peaked my curiousity is all. I know i had high hopes for WAR, was fun for about 3 months, but i lost interest as well after trying eve.

Yea war was fun.. until december. Then I got bored and found Atlantica online, got bored at lvl 50 then resubbed to potbs... Meh I hope this game will release in NA... But I doubt it.

Haha yes I am. I am extremely optimistic in all things. I love life, my family, my job, random strangers, homeless people, ugly dogs, travel, and zombies. I find pleasure in many things.... that's what she said.
Anyway yeah I support almost every game in development in the sense that I think they all deserve a fair chance. I always say don't preorder unless you can lose the money, but at the same time MMORPG launches are the most fun I get out of games, or this PC in general so I would never miss one. Every MMORPG makes me excited. A lot turn out to be dissapointing, but in the end I get my fun and 50$ out of them almost every time.
The reason I dissapear is that I start playing the game. At that point the forums become somewhat pointless to me as the main people that stay active on them are the trolls and haters for a little while and then the forums chill out. I figure at that point there is no more use defending a launched product since everyone can see for themselves.

Wow. I think I have a whole new respect for you, ProfRed. I don't agree with your optimizm about DF, or probably some other games, however I think that is a respectable way to look at things. Too bad I'm too pessimistic about many upcoming titles (and also some that have recently released) to see through the rosy glasses anymore, but keeping the cheer in dark times- is admirable. Kudos.

At this point I no longer care when Darkfall comes out. Who knows anymore really? Not I. Trying to be a fence-sitting skeptic, I'll employ the "wait and see" policy.
I did not vote btw, as poll-based threads seem to be very useless proving nothing more then an unoriginal way to open up a discussion on certain topics.
I miss the days when OP's would write a thread of substance and thought-provoking statements designed at fostering a space wherein all involved may discuss such subject matters in a more appropriate, and mature manner.
I only want it to come out if it is *READY*. I think many of us are tired of beta-testing unfinished games that are released due to financial constraints and the need to start generating revenue.
I think that depends on your definition of "unfinished". What gripes me is when a company doesn't even play-test their own product. That's the crux of the issue. Releasing a game with major parts missing/broken (i.e. Tier 4 in Warhammer at release).
I don't think it will. I just don't think there gonna be able to stabilize the game / server before Feb25 rolls around.

Exactly.
Personally, I don't care when the game comes out at all. FFA PvP with full loot isn't my thing, and there are plenty of things for me to do in the games I'm currently playing, so for me Darkfall isn't a priority.
However, I DO hope that for Aventurine's sake, they don't launch poorly. These days, there's a *very* short window for a game to get an audience, and there are already a lot of established games out there. If they launch before Darkfall is truly ready, or if the game has a lot of stability and performance issues and bugs, they'll get crucified. The end result will be most people leaving the game with just a small, dedicated group of fans keeping the faith. It will be Vanguard's launch all over again.

The game will launch on February 25th. It will be invite only and players will still be under an NDA.
I'm not sure what they will call it though, since they already used that definition on the 'beta', 'press release' and 'free trial'.
Darkfall is nothing more than a UO private server.
