There's nothing brilliant or amazing about the death system in EQ2, unless of course you pbelieve that... It's just a way for SoE to say they're different then the other guys. While that in itself is a given, it's not a good nor a bad thing... And comparing it to WoW's death system is kind of odd. After stress testing WoW the death made the game a lot more appealing, and from the sound of this death system, it makes eq2 much more appealing but in a different way - bout all...
Geez, the death system is a always an art that rarely satisfies everyone. Take for instance the death system in Lineage 2, OMG I loved it, and I feared for death at every bend. My heart always raced in battle. Now, visit the boards there on L2 and listen to the gripes.

Death should be meaningful, the death system in EQ2 may just do that for some. But, gauranteed not for all.
Originally posted by Doomsayer Anyone have any ideas how this will work with multiple deaths in a group or, God forbid, a group whipe? I mean, will death penelty from every player in the group be added to everyone because of one bad pull or situation that got out of control and the group died? If so, OUCH! And don't say it won't happen. We all know that sh*t happens.Everything born must die. All that is, will come to ruin. This is the essence of Doom. So sayeth the Doomsayer.
If you have a group of 6 people, for each death each person loses 1/6th of the XP that they would from a solo death. If all 6 people die, it is like everyone dying once while solo.
6 people dying in a group will have the same XP loss for everyone as 6 people dying while soloing.
And I hear at higher levels, the XP debt from one death in a full party can be worked off in 10-15 minutes, so if that's true then it isn't so bad.
