What kind of chip?  CPU?  Capacitor?

Most likely you can't get it repaired, the chips in a motherboard are beyond human capacity to solder now (millions upon millions of IC chips), your best bet is to send it in to get replaced.

Any burned-out chip/IC on a motherboard instantly means you need to get a new one. It's as good as impossible to repair.

Motherboards are pretty much Field Replacement Units now. No point in attempting to repair an individual part of it, it's not worth the trouble. Replace it. Take this as an opportunity to upgrade.

Replacing something on your motherboard is difficult but not impossible.  The sodder machine actually has a much higher chance at damaging something then doing it by hand if you are good enough.

If you are asking the question, I assume you have never soldered ICs to a board... If that is the case, I would just replace the mobo with a cheap one or replace your mobo/proc/memory with a new build.  A mobo can be as cheap as $50 where a new mobo/proc/memory can run you 1k plus.
