Beyond Protocol 4x MMORTS

YamotaYamota Member UncommonPosts: 6,593

Just wanted to take a moment to let people know that I found a new revolutionary MMORPG/MMORTS called Beyond Protocol. It is a 4x (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate) space strategy game which lets thousands of players play in a persistant online universe.

I believe its the first of its kind and the website can be found at: www.beyondprotocol.com/

Check it out.

Btw why isnt that game listed here?

Is not a MMORPG, but a MMORTS.  I like it, but is more complex than EvE (maybe because the GUI is rough)

one thing,  dont even think about starting play this game now,  you will be eaten alive by the other players.

Its way to late to start now,   your entire colony/base will be destroyed by a single ship from a 6 mounth old player.

Its a nice game,  but its impossible to start as a new player,   thats the way they made this game.

I have played for a quite long time here,  and I can say if any new player shows up,  I will destroy him in less than a eyeblink =).   its really really a fuked up game.

Thanks and sorry for my english.

Ps this game will soon be closed,  cuz there is not any new players,  they have no chance to survive a day or 2

    Armor I totally disagree.

I just started yesterday -- the community is exetremely friendly and helpful.

I don't think the game will close and I'm sure a newbie can surived for much longer then two days.  I've asked similar questions, veterens, say it's not true, there are some advantages to have played the game longer.  But you can designer your own combat units.. and make them effect againts, the high-tech ones.

    great game lots of potential.

i played least 2months of ob and month and half of live.

    player with more tech win.

sure u can win against someone who has more tech and is dum.

but most of the player who have had time to play long enough to get jamming and range and speed.

know what works and what doesnt you will die serveral times before u relise what to use.

its a very rock paper scissors game. even with how complex it gets.

most players learn the soft caps of each ship and techs pretty easy once u learn the designers.

fyi avoid the player named antofdeath

btw: this game is not open beta its live.

antofdeath, I've seen some his postes in the forum, he's a little rude -- what does he do in game cheat?

causes drama thats all that needs be said.

really great game thats not for every one. its worth trying out.

if you decide u like the game and want to play it more. you might want to join a guild.

joining a guild can be good and bad.

joining a guild can improve your game play because the exp player are more then likly to help you get started and or trade u ships to use in battle.

also allaising is a great feature. if your not busy on your account someone can allow u to simitanously log on theres.

to do this they give full/partial access there account. it allows u to login to there account with your login. they may give u near to full access or just visablity of what there stuff is doing.

also you can allow players to log on yours and help you if your having problems with designing or making a new colony.

somtimes joining a guild means you may be involed in wars which is great for some and not for others.

also you anyone can war dec you guild or not. so always be prepared this is not a sit back and mine/hoard money. every player must do all roles maby more then others but you have no power if your have no force.

i really think the game has a requirement that is too intense for some players.

if your not online and your at war with someone. if your units get engaged 90% they will lose.

ai for uncontrol units is horrible.

There is a free trial, how long is the trial for?

I agree Armor... it's a good concept, but not very newbie friendly... the game closing, not sure about that...

If the dev's can put more time/money on the thing (maybe hire a Ui designer, or usability expert or a designer or something)  it could be the next EVE.. with RTS gameplay. But It really need lots of work, bot to become a optimal game, and to try to play it.

This game is pretty bad.  I don't see too many people paying 15 bucks a month for it.  There are f2p browser games with the same game dynamic, plus you can get owned within days also :)

I'm still on my first day, so if anything happens to change my mind I'll get back with a revised opinion.

k nothing changed my mind, game is boring. Uninstalled.

I had a lot o tech problems with the game.  Could not get the window to scroll properly. Some sound problems.

The game is very very slow to progress. It takes forever to do anything. Which is good and bad I guess, depends. It is a time investment to play.

    Graphics suck.

It is not worth paying for at all. Maybe free add supported, but a subscription model is out of the question.

    this got a prompt uninstall
