Alright, I need a new MMO. I don't like WoW or Everquest (they are pretty much identical besides graphics)
I like more of a single player experience in my MMO. Like in RuneScape. I don't like how most MMO's base fighting on a party experience. It doesn't work for me. I want to be able to go off on my own, and not have to worry about missing out on much of the game. RuneScape just doesn't have enough for me though.
Graphics aren't that important to me, and I don't mind if it's a Sci-Fi type game or a fantasy.

I don't mean to be a jerk but MMO does mean Massive Multpiayer. But on another note.... Singleplayer type MMO... i guess you could say Guildwars cause you can compile a NPC team with you. AOC although you're going to miss the bigger dungeons and endgame content. Eve but it's gonna be very lonely. Ryzom might be an option I suppose although it's best aspect is the community. I hear they added or are adding NPC partners to DDO as well... I dunno comming up with SOLO only games is kinda hard in this genre. Have you tried Titan Quest? It's diabloesque and was very good.. OR even Sacred 2 which i'm playing through now is pretty decent. Or you also have The witcher or Two worlds both of which had EXTREME revamps recently to fix bugs.
play Fallout 3
Played: Earth'n'Beyond-WoW-EvE-EQ2-LoTRo-PotBS-CoV-Vanguard-FFXI-DDO-L2
Well, I still want an MMO, just not one so party orriented. With Runescape, even at the top levels you still were fighting alone most of the time.
I have Titan Quest, it's just too similiar to Diablo for me. Maybe I'll give it another try though.

^^ That too... Or oblivion OR Bioshock
**EDIT: Or Fable 2 if you've got a 360
Maybe Two worlds or oblivion or the witcher. Two worlds is kinda like oblivion and got awfull reviews but they recent released a New edition with an expansion and alot of people are liking it now. But oblivion is still better. You could spend A LONG time on that game doing all the content. The problem with MMO is you're paying amonthly fee most the time for a game you're not using the REASON you're paying to that fee. If you're going to solo ONLY you're better off playing a singleplayer game. Better quality more story better graphics more fluid gameplay and SOLO.
If you don't mind grouping SOMETIMES than AOC is a pretty good option even as a healer I leveld fairly high only grouping sometimes. Everyone in that game is good in combat everyones a hybrid.
Mind if I point out that those are not MMOs and completely lack online, besides Fable 2 which has a pretty dumb online system where it isn't your character?

The main reason I need an MMO right now is because my girlfriend doesn't have a phone anymore. We used to play RuneScape, but we got bored of it after a while. So, it has to be an MMO. And I want something more single player orriented because I will probably play a lot more than she does.
Does that clear anything up?

i don't know if the guys responding with single player games are being smart asses but I'll try to come up with some recommendations.
Anarchy Online - it is rather old and dated graphics, but supposively new graphics engine is coming down the pipeline in the near future. The game has a tiered subscription model. It is free2play with no expansions, I believe 5 dollars a month for first expansion and standard 15 a month for all expansions. The game is quite different from standard EQesque games and it can be played effectively solo or team depending on your profession. I used to play adventurer which was the jack of all trades class which can heal and melee/range decently. So soloing was easy and finding groups was easy as well.
City of Heroes/Villains - very different from EQesque games and you can solo in the game, but it is much faster in my experience to find parties. The game has a ton of customization in the appearance and powers department, but missions can get repetitive quickly but the same can be said about pretty much all MMO's.
Guild Wars - may or may not be an MMO depending on your own personal views but it's still an entertaining game and can most definitley be soloed easily. Almost no grind and there is no monthly fees. All outdoor areas where you fight are instanced and only towns are where you'll see other players outside of your group. the level cap is 20, tons of skill unlocks, 3 story campaigns and 1 expansion story, and lots of fun arena pvp. The game is also point and click.
there are some more i can think of, but maybe I'll post those later. Hope that helps.
No i'm not trying to be a jerk with the singleplayer ones But the original sound of the post made it seam like he never wanted to group at all... So why play an MMO when a singleplayer game would be better for that, But now that he elaborated i get what he's looking for more.
I would say guildwars would be good. and AOC for the above reasons I said. COH is a good one expecially since you can Sidekick her or exemplar down to catch her up with you if you want. SWG is another one that you can solo the entire game fairly efficiently as much as some people will flame me for that. I'm kinda sticking with Guildwars for ya cause not only is it free BUT she can play very casually and since optimizing your character isn't about gaining levels you can still party together no matter how much you play more than her... Same with COH/COV.
Thank you, I'm downloading the trial for CoH right now ^_^ Seems like something she'd love. 2.7 GB download just for the trial though =(
Thanks for the help!
