ok long story short, 1st time round:
2 years (roughly), BC came out 2 weeks after i hit 60 (40 something days played to reach that -_-). Rolled a hunter (big mistake) had a good time going to 60 (until i hit the 40's) got dead lucky when i guy gave me 90g free for a mount (i talked to him about grinding for mount money and he turned around and gave me the cash), Grinded BG;s to get my epic mount and got a taste of raiding (never downed a boss in MC, got most of em in ZG and got to see 1 boss go down in that Sithilus place).
anyway me and my friend (also rolled a hunter) decided to do a trial and roll priests (we LOVE instance grinding and priests) and so far its ok but i guess i am looking for advice as to whether i should come back (instance grinding is a big plus for me but i heard they changed instances a bit). Any tips on how to keep myself interested would be good too.
p.s i HATE questing, i would rather grind than quest anyday but i am willing to do a few quests here and there.

First of all, what do you mean by grinding ... instances? Do you mean repeating instance runs?
What level range are you asking our opinion about? 1-60? 60-70? or 70-80?
Can you also please rephrase your question into something that doesn't require us to decide for you? We can't, it's totally subjective and you'll end up with more noise than information.
i did say i was starting again (level1). I doubt i would reach 60 before April, maybe June

Well, you will hit 60 a lot faster now, the changed the time it takes so new players wont have to spend so much time to hit the expansion.
If you really like grinding you should do a free trial of Linage 2 instead, it is the king of that kind of gameplay.
even i have my limits...
seriously though Lineage 2 was too boring, the landscapes were just bleak and barren.

Know how ya feel....I'm also on the fence about returning to WoW mainly cause of the achivements appear to be fun to get. I will also be starting anew cause I sold my account when I quit over a year ago...hehe Never played Horde much and I figure many of the quests will be similar to Alliance, but it may take me a few to get back up there since I like to read the quests!
Still deciding though...
it is a hard choice. I dont know if it will keep my attention for as long as it did last time (long enough to reach my mount, then it became pretty horrible)

I am the opposite of you when it comes to questing, it makes the leveling move faster and you hardly care about exp. So I like wow alot. I played alot of mmo´s and I really hate grinding mmo´s. But if you really want a mmo where all you do is grind and wait for loot Lineage 2 is very good for you. Alot of new titles are comming our really soon so you might wanna wait and see.
Hmmm.. you may be disappointed. The older dungeons are definitely EZ mode now, and can feel like ghost towns when looking for a group. I too prefer instance grinding to quests and managed to have a couple of good runs going from 1-60. You level so fast it is hard to repeat any of them really.
from 70-80 it is quest all day all the time - most people don't like grinding how you explained - many can't even fathom it, so they didn't understand your post, lol. all decent rewards are predicated on quest chains..
If you don'tlike the linear quest flow, it's pretty ugly. i personally messed around grinding rep in outland for fun to skip some of this.
However, if you can get past this, there are alot of dungeons to grind at 80 for loot/reputation(more loot). so in the end you may be able to capture what you are after...
there are always going to be people levelling characters, but at your pace it may be hard to find lasting friends.
The problem i see with questing is all the time i spend finding where the mobs are and then running to it. I feel much better when i am in a camp slaughtering creatures for XP than i am running around hoping to stumble across the monsters for this quest. While most quests are ok there is always that one or two quests that are just a pain to find. To me grinding seems faster than questing.
As for all the 65+ stuff, i wont see that for quite some time (highest character i had was a 64) but i guess it is something to look forward to.
