I got an email from MMORPG a couple of weeks ago about this game's new client release. I played it a few years ago so gave it another try.
The new client is awesome! Right now they have a free trial deal going right now.

Hmm, depending in which release you mean, DS Asia servers are free for longer than the two week trial (much longer as it stands right now). But they are still 1.481; the newest release is 1.482.
Still, check them both out! If two weeks isn't enough you've got asia servers.

EDIT: two week trial also doesn't include everything the full game does. That's a personal sore spot of mine
but it's solved by free DS Asia.
I didnt care for the game. You can only move Left or Right with your ship. When your moving it feels like your ship is standing still and space is moving. Thats my 2 cents
No you can't move up or down. That was an early decision by the devs and I think it was the right one.
The game would be way way too complicated if there was a true z-axis.
