I am having trouble starting the game. Actually I have a couple problems they seem to have different causes.
My specs:
Gateway FX6800 (I retired from building pc's don't hate)
Intel i7 2.6ghz
ATI Radeon HD 4850 (not sure on GRAM)
3 GB DDR3 (Spread over 3 1GBs)
Onboard sound
So my first problem is that when I log in to the game the OS switches to Vista Basic and the screen with go black for a second and then nothing happens like the game closed itself out. If I keep trying I might be able to get the game to start. Then if I close and run the game in DX10 i doesn't start.
My computer completely crashed 2 times while playing. I had to do a hard boot. I disabled the sound and renabled it and the game hasn't crashed since. So I searched all the googles and couldn't really find a solution to my problem. I was wondering if anyone knows what could be causing it.

Maybe make sure it has all the permissions it needs in Vista, firewall, ETC..?

right click on the launch icon and set to "run as administrator" should fix all the issues.
Oh yeah I forgot about Run as admin. I have UAC disabled I think so that might not be it but then again could it be my anti virus?
